I was very worried that mathews just made a big mistake. But i was wrong. The design on it looks great when i first thought it was ugly. The bow is a 33 aisle to aisle bow so that turns some people off but i like that quality. Then i shot it.... Super awesome draw cycle. easy roll over and a SOLID AND I MEAN SOLID back wall. This was at 70# and a 28' draw. Then the chrono.. I was worried that it wasn't going to shoot fast with hunting arrows. He just picked up some arrows from the range (i don't know the weight but hunting arrows) and it Shot at 295 fps. Some say that is slow, but it is faster then my bow (granted i shoot at a 27' draw). The bow is dead in your hands. and i say that having shot all the new bows and this one beat them all. One of the best qualities of this bow is that you can hardly torch the bow. Since it has no cams its almost impossible to torch it. AND on top of all that. It was the quietest bow that i have ever shot. I am not a mathews guy, or one that even really likes mathews. But this is one sweet bow. If i had the money, I would buy it.
That's awesome! Yah same here, I didn't like the design of it, but it actually doesn't look that bad overall. That's awesome that your satisfied with there bow. Cant wait to shoot it!
I just returned from shooting it. I'd say everyone should keep a open mind. Setting aside aesthetics this is a sweet bow. Here are my thoughts: Draw cycle was a little harsher then I expect it to be for a "No Cam" bow. It felt like it was harder to draw 70 then other Mathews bows I have had. The rock mods are doing all the work. This bow is super quite and completely dead in the hand following the shot. Draw length is adjusted via the Rock Mods. I will be real interest how this will impact the draw cycle as shooter draw lengths change. At first glance, I see no way to tune this bow in the event the timing is off. And of course it has a solid back wall. How can it not when the rock mod has a stopper. Which I find to be annoy as it is kind of loud. I probably put some felt on the limb where the "stopper and limb make contact. oh and I predict the Z7, I mean "Z2" will sale like hot cakes! The chill X Pro not so much, at least not at the MSRP it is listed at!
I am going to shoot this and a couple other new bows today when I leave work. Leaving an hour early just to get there in time to have some time to shoot them. I'm keeping an open mind as I believe anyone should with something as out of the box as this is.
Good deal. I'm planning to get a new bow come Januaryish. Couple of mathews and bowtech/diamond dealers around but Hoyt is a long drive.
Correction. They aren't wheels at all. If you look you can see that axle are not drilled perfect center. So it's in fact a cam not a wheel.
