I've got quite a few pics of this dude this year. I call him Funky just because of his left side. I passed him Saturday afternoon at 9 yards as I figure he's only a 2 year old. I studied his body over and he showed no sign of an injury that may of caused his rack configuration. We do from time to time see some weird looking racks on bucks (unicorn on one side for example), but never one that actually droops like this. I'm thinking maybe some kind of injury in velvet? His right side is really cool with a palmated beam, tines, and some kickers. Hope he makes it through so I can see what he does next year.

Looks like it was broken while in velvet, Scott ... just my guess...

or it broke the skull plate and that is how it grew back. My first buck ever was just like that.

Ya when you blow up the picture you can see the antler on that side. Could have been hit by a car or injured on his opposite side causing the deformed growth. I have heard of that happening a lot.

My buddy shot one like that last year. It looked like it got injured or hit it hard when he was in velvet. There was no other signs of trauma.

That's my best guess as well.

I glassed him over pretty good Saturday and could not see any visible sign of an injury.

Hit his antler on a moving car during velvet but nothing else?
