I've recently refletched 6 of my arrows using the nap quikfletch. I'm use the Easton axis arrows. I did them exactly like it showed to and I noticed on a few of my arrows there were hard bubbles by the fletchings. It didn't seem to affect the flight or my accuracy @ 30 yrds but it still worries me. I'm thinking maybe it's due to the smaller diameter arrows. Has anyone had this problem and if so do you know the cause? I appreciate any feedback.

Try using a heat gun or a blow dryer on them. Shrink them from the top to the bottom (or bottom to top) and see if that will get the bubbles out. If not, use the tip of an exacto knife blade, or something sharp and poke a tiny hole in the top of the bubble. Then use the heat gun again and see if this doesn't work. I don't put mine in the boiling water. The heat gun seems to work better. Just dont over heat it. It will end up splitting on you.

Yeah, if you put them in the boiling water too quickly it will trap air and shrink around it. When you place the arrow in the water, go slowly and a bit of an angle down. That will help the quick fletch shrink slow enough to allow all the air to escape.

If it's hard bubbles around the fletching then it's likely glue.

Yeah it's hard bubbles and that's what I was thinking that it seemed like glue

What he said, you need to dunk it in the water very slowly or you'll get bubbles. I kept bubbly ones for practice, not the quiver. I THINK you can slit the bubble and then try dunking again.

Its not glue, there isn't any glue when using Quickfletch. Its an air bubble.

Beats me, as far as I can tell its a single piece of plastic from a mold (vanes included). There certainly isnt' any glue on a brand new one out of the box.

It's definitely not a single piece of plastic from a mold. The fletching material is completely different from the shrink tubing. They are attached with glue.

Mine have the same thing - it's nothing to worry about and won't affect your arrow flight or accuracy. Shoot away!

Alright thanks. They've been shooting just as well as any other arrow. I was going to redo them but it would probably just do the same thing again.

I've used 3 packs of them and never had any hardened glue bubbles on them, but I have had the air bubbles as a result of dunking too fast. Sounds like a defective pack if there is glue visible.

I'm pretty sure that it's just some excess glue on the back of the vane that stuck to the shrink tube. When you dunk the tube in water to shrink it down this little spot is unable to shrink b/c there's glue adhered to it. So you end up with what looks like a little bubble at the back of the vane where it contacts the tube. I've cut a few open to verify there's nothing actually under the tube itself and there isn't. Like I said, it won't affect accuracy so shoot away.

I got bubbles on a couple too. I let the water cool off just enough so the bubbles stopped and this seemed to work better for me. I also put them in the water straight up and down. I seemed to get better results this way.
