I'm looking for a bow for my 10 year old son. He has a cheap one from Walmart and loves to shoot and go out hunting with me but I want to get him a bow that is like the adult ones and can be customized and he can actually use next year when he starts hunting. Any suggestions and ideas would be great!

My son has the mission craze and it has been good. Huge draw length adjustment and goes from 10-70 pounds. At the ripe old age of 12 he's killed 4 deer with it. We got it as a set up ready to shoot kit.

Check out the Diamond Infinite Edge too. My son had the Edge until this year (he's 17 now) and it grew with him very nicely.

Second the Mission Craze. I bought my nephew one last year for his 11th birthday. The quality and the adjustments make it a great bow.

Thanks for all the info guys, I have some bows to look up now. I got my wife shooting and now hunting this year for the first time so hopefully in the next few years the whole family is in the back yard shooting ( 4yr daughter might take a bit).

Like the others above, the Mission Craze. Heard great things about it, trying to get my teenage daughters into shooting, thats what I wanna go with for them. The problem is getting them to shoot!!!!!!

+1 for the Craze. Got one for my son a couple seasons ago and he's killed 3 deer with it already. Smooth, accurate, quick and quiet - everything you need for a great hunting bow. Great range of adjustability and a great price too!

My first bow was a Parker Sidekick and I would definitely recommend it.

Bear Apprentice hands down is the best youth/women's bow available. It has a great adjustability range and should last him until his mid to late teens.

Check out the Hoyt Ignite. It's a great bow that can grow with your kid to adulthood. Super adjustable. Draw lengths from 19-30 and poundage from 15-70. 8" brace height. I checked them all out last Christmas for my daughter, and hands down this was the only bow model that felt like it was built to the same quality as an adult bow.

Lots of good ones listed already, one that hasn't been said that really impressed was one from G5 called the radical. The amount good accessories that come with this bow is impressive.

My son is ten years old and i bought him a bear apprentice,it's adjustable to grow with him as he gets older and pretty inexpensive too.the bow and my boy both shoot awesome. The way i figured it was if he didnt really take to it i wasn't out a boatload of money and if he did i wouldn't have to purchase a new one for a few years until he got a little older. I couldn't have been happier with my purchase at $279.00 and it even come with the ready to shoot package!!
