Do you have your eye on a certain buck as for a shooter?

Very neat video, he didn't have a care in the world!

There is one on here keeping me up at night )
I'm not someone who usually lets a 120ish deer walk
    The footage is cool )

Wow! I admire your self control on holding out for the big one. Either one of those would dwarf my biggest buck to date.

Can't forget this little guy. He already had the lady, and I don't think he wanted to fight Bucky too bad )

The original video posted is awesome.

It shows so much about how in tune they are with their surroundings. He seems miffed at why the other (decoy) buck isn't acknowledging his presence, hard to tell what would have happened but that was a great example of how a decoy could benefit you.

When that crash or whatever it was happened about the 6 minute mark you can just listen to nature and watch how he reacts. The tattle tale of the woods bluejays and all the other snitches kept him on alert to something. That was also a teaching moment, listen to the birds and other wildlife.

Question about your decoy, do you just descent it and place it or put other scent on or around it? The way he kept licking it almost seems maybe he was confused at a lack of scent, guess that could be a good thing as well. Keeps them curious and unsure of what to do.

    Cool footage either way

I do everything I can to keep it scent free. I did have dominant buck gel on the tall weeds just behind him. I also had estrus doe gel on a drag hanging on a small tree about ten feet east of him. I walked past and drug thru 5-6 active scrapes getting to my stand. I stopped at every one of these to apply doe gel. I will also hang real tarsal by him sometimes.
You are correct about something else going on. I still think there was another possibility bigger buck just staying out. I thought at one time I heard a snort wheeze, about the same time he spins around. This calling sequence all started with me calling to a big ten point.

Those are nice young bucks. I'd let them both walk knowing what size deer we have around here.
    Nice video's.

So how long after the first one exited did the second one show up? Guessing the skittish one, second video posted was 2nd to arrive, Blue Jays are still going and lots of commotion.

He acted like he just knew something was up by nature's sound rather than another buck around or a hunter near. Reason I think he was second to show up was because of the shadows still facing same direction and commotion. Yet he ran off where the other one was looking. Think it was a/the bigger one coming around to your right to scent check the decoy? Could something have been at your twelve and made it to the 2 or 3 position without you seeing it?
