My best guess with the upcoming cold front in the mid-west is that a LOT of bucks are going to hit the dirt in the next 5 days. I'm betting we see at least two in the 150"+ range and a whole lot of others as well. Anyone want to call their own shot or predict someone else's success? Who's your bet on putting down a good buck in the next 5 days?
Jerry (gltomp) is my bet! Wild card maybe, but his new Mathews has him hunting like a kid again!! I have faith, and know the the areas he hunts, they are around!!
I agree bucks are going to start hitting the ground here this weekend. I think I have a good shot at killing at buck. I'm just not sure if you guys will call it a big buck.
we are suppose to get some cold temps down here as well. (well cold-er lol) if i can get out im hoping to put one down!
I'm guessing one of the guys on the BH.com lease in NW Illinois will put at least one down this weekend. We will have a lot of guys there this weekend, there are a ton of good bucks, and the temp drop and wind patterns all line up favorably. I bet at least one 130"+ deer will go down there. I'm also betting we hear from Scott (buckeye). He's about 2 weeks late compared to his average kill date the past couple of years it seems. I could be wrong but in the last 10+ years I can only remember one that he didn't have a nice buck down by end of October.
I am off starting Thursday and there is a cold front moving in. So if everything lines up I will be dropping the string this week again.
I'm gonna jinx myself, but I think that by Friday evening that I will have a buck down. Probably in the 130 range. Hopefully a Halloween anniversary for me.
My wife booked us for a trip to the beach! Yaaayyyyyyyyyyy! Going tonight and in the morning and then.......well, she is going to experience the rut in a whole new light.

Good luck boys. I leave for Florida with the lady on vacation 30th to the 4th then its her birthday on the 6th. Next hunt will be an all day-er Saturday the 8th.
