Is this going to be the best weekend of the year to bowhunt hunt in the midwest? I think it might. I will be out as much as the wife allows. If you are in Illinois an added bonus will be Saturday, as one of the biggest deer drives of the year takes place. (Opening day for upland.) Good luck and be safe.
Thursday to Sunday is going to be a GREAT time to be in the woods without a doubt. I'm excited just thinking about it. Gonna put my heated hoodie to good use, that's for sure.
Yeah I am excited too. The weather pattern mixed with the time of the year and the pre-rut activity should make it outstanding.

Mid 60s here today to upper 40s here tomorrow with 30mph gusts. I will be in the stand all day Wednesday!
44 for a high on Halloween... 45 Saturday and Sunday. I check the weather 5+ times a day this time of year.
The only concern I have is that they are predicting a lot of Southern winds which does me no favors. We will see
OMG checking weather.com 10 day forcast ALL DAY today! Corn will be out early this week. Super pumped for fri sat sun! Good feeling i will be filling my buck tag this weekend. Especially with all the good buck activity ive been having already with ****ty weather and lots of corn.
Combine the weekend forecast with the fact that I am starting to see a lot more day time/pre rut activity makes this the longest week of my life. High of 48 on Saturday for my area of Indiana according to weather.com
I am pumped. Going to hunt tomorrow afternoon just as a means of hanging a stand in closer to a bedding area and taking a head count. Going to be hard at it Friday morning through the weekend and most if not all of next week depending on what I see this weekend.
I don't see a lot to be excited about in South Dakota. We're looking at a small cold snap on Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday are still going to be warmer than normal and it'll be really windy.
Seen a bunch of pre-rut sign this past Saturday, fresh scrapes in all the usual places and even watched some chasing. Neighbor shot a 150 class 12 last night tending scrapes. I think the bucks are on the edge of meltdown! Those older does should be on target to go in heat over the next several days... Looks like I might have a interesting four day weekend!
My cameras are starting to light up. Scrapes are being tended by bucks I haven't seen all year. Corn is finally all coming down. I'm hoping it breaks open a bit. It's my only weekend that I can for sure hunt until Thanksgiving, so I'm probably in the stand from sun up to sun down Saturday and Sunday.
A great weekend to hunt for sure.. But the best is likely a long shot. id say prepare to see a few 4 year olds return to beds late as they busy themselves with the ladies.. But the best days are still another week or more away.
Yeah this is shaping up to be one heck of a weekend. My butt will be firmly planted in a stand all day saturday and sunday and most of the day friday. My wife has been notified that she is on her own this weekend.
I took off the 31st to be in the woods when the cold comes! Excited...this IS the weekend I out one down!
