Has everyone's weather been as crappy for hunting as we have had here in NE Kansas. Our temps have been ridiculously warm for this time of year. We are supposed to hit 84 today and there isn't a chance for even a light freeze in the10 day forecast. I usually don't do much hunting till the first freeze. Don't know why just the way it's always been. Guess that will change this year. Usually that first freeze is 3 weeks ago. I've got 4 days off starting Tuesday and looks like I'll have to contend with temps in the 70s with lows in mid 40s. It will make the sits easier I've just never seen much with temps like that and I'm afraid to lose meat with temps like that.
Same weather here so far this year. Maybe for a rarity we will have cooler weather when the middle of November rolls around. Good luck.
Here in PA, we've actually had decent temps for the most part, but the wind and rain has been relentless it seems every Saturday that i've hunted so far. We're forecasted for upper 60's early next week, then it looks like the bottom is about to fall out and go into the 40's for a high.
It has been unusually warm this last week and into this weekend... BUT Next Tuesday is what every bow hunter dreams of in terms of weather change. A major cold front coming through during the peak of the pre rut. Today: 70 Saturday: 63 Sunday: 64 Monday: 64 Tuesday: 47
Had my first freeze on the windshield this morning. Supposed to have a slight warm up, but then back down to regular temperatures (40-50). Saturdays, like someone else stated, have been so wet and windy. I didn't even try going out last weekend. It's about 56* out there right now. I'll be heading to the tree in about an hour.
I would love to 47 on Tuesday. My weather says 66 with a low of 46 on Tuesday. Coolest I see is 59 and 39 on Halloween then back to the seventies the first weekend of November. T shirt weather.
Looking at 75ish for Monday's hunt, yuk! I was pouring sweat last yr when I got into my stand and it was only 70.
Looks like Sunday morning will be great. Too bad I live in PA. These temp swings over the next few days are going to be ridiculous. We have mild temps today. Tomorrow morning will be good, then gusty winds tomorrow afternoon with low 60s again, then big drop in temps overnight, with 40s in the AM, then high winds in the afternoon and high 50s, then another upswing with low 70s by Tuesday.
You hunting Tuesday? I'm sitting all day on Wednesday. Wind is gusts up to 30 on Tuesday here so Wednesday could be good!
Tuesday evening for sure. If the weather hold Wednesday should be excellent as well... Perfect wind for one of my better stands.
Still in the 70s next week. They were calling for a temp drop on Monday but now they're saying 72. It's about 80 right now.
Yeah same here. I've been hunting some, things are seriously slow but I'm still managing to see deer. I don't care for hunting in temps over 65 either.
Currently in MO and high was in the mid 70's. No movement at all. Back at home in OK, I do not know a single friend that is even bothering to go hunt as it will be in the mid 80's
West Central Illinois - High both days this weekend in the mid 80's, and lows around 60. I'm gonna swap some camera cards, but that's my extent of time in the timber. T H I S B L O W S ! ! ! !
Yeah here in MO it sucks too. I feel ya brother. Pisses me off. Instead of hunting tomorrow I'm gonna move a stand, might as well being 80 degrees at the end of October... Sent from my treestand using Tapatalk
