This property I've been hunting for years had a trail camera posted in a spot where it didn't make much sense so to be helpful I spun it around to where the deer were coming in. Its been a few weeks and nothing has been said about it. I was just trying to be helpful but after thinking about it I feel like I realllllly messed up. I realize I should've never touched it, its not mine and its not my property Ivdidnt think about it. Any idea on what the best course of action would be? I really don't know what I should do.

Um...contact the camera owner and fess up....sorry but this is the most obvious easy answer ever. Don't touch what isn't yours unless instructed.

Do you know the person who owns that camera? If you have been hunting the same spot for years and a trail cam pops up all the sudden, id be worried about my spot or trespassing.

P.S. If this is your spot and he had the camera faced the wrong way, I would have left it. Now he may see all the deer in your area and stick around!

Destroy camera. Burn any evidence. Deny any involvement.

I'd go back and put it to how it was. Then get in front of it and do funny poses......

Sorry, this post reminded me of one from last year when someone said they stole one off public land.

Best advice is if it's not yours don't touch it.

You could just leave a note on the camera detailing your intentions. I doubt they would be upset knowing why you moved it.

My opinion is that you're worrying too much about something silly. I'd note that I felt bad for touching someone elses property and not do it if it ever happens again and go on about my day without giving it another thought. You didn't steal it, you didn't move it where it can't be found and you had the best of intentions in mind. I wouldn't worry about it.

I wasn't trying to hide when I did it I meant to be seen because I was trying to be helpful. I did go out today and let him know. He said he thought it was funny, and don't touch the cams anymore. Soooo it was all right. Dumb on my part I just wasn't thinking. Luckily he's a nice a guy!

I was thinking the exact same thing!

Is this post even real? I'm confused....it's land you've hunted for years, now all of a sudden there is another camera on it? And you don't know who's it is? Orrrrrr.....yeah??

No good will come from moving anything that is not yours, next you will be looking for a new place to hunt because word gets around fast over members messing with others equipment.

You're lucky he wasn't more upset, when I set up cameras I have them facing a certain way for a reason and I'm sure he is the same way. I'd be pretty mad at you for touching my camera regardless of your intentions.
