I managed to get some time off work, for a stone sheep hunt that I had planned earlier in the month of August. The hunt took place about a 6 hour drive north from where I live, in northern BC. I went on 3 seperate sheep hunts all together last year. One stone sheep hunt where my dad got an awesome full curl ram with his rifle. So this year was my turn and hopefully I'd have some luck on my side. We got all our necessary sheep hunting gear packed up, and started to hike up the mountain. I took about 5 hours to hike to the top and since we left around noon, we'd get up to the top with just enought time to set up our tent and do a little glassine before our true first day of sheep hunting would begin. I were glassine for about 45 mins when we spotted 3 rams. One we knew was legal because it was a definite full curl, and one of the other ones wasn't a full curl but decent size. ( In BC they have to be a minimum of 8 years old ) the next day we couldn't spot the rams again unfortunately but did see other sheep throught out the day, mostly eves and young rams. It went on like that for the next 3 days. On the 5th day I got the opportunity to draw back on a nice 10 year old ram and let the arrow fly at 55 years. It was a clean pass thru and the sheep went 20 yards at the most and collapsed! I couldn't believe it, a dream hunt of mine came true with a big stone sheep down! I still can't believe it!! I will have the full story up within the next couple of days along with pictures and more info. I am back at work today and only have the one picture of the ram on my phone, the rest are still on the camera. Arrived back home at midnight last night and up for work this morning. Just thought I'd share my successful dream hunt with you all, even if it is a summarized version for now, haha
