I went out in a spot that I haven't hunted yet and it was pretty nice. Had a doe walk in so I drew back, settled my pin, took a breath and put my finger on the trigger of my release. About that time I heard leaves rustle behind me so I waited. 15 seconds later a fawn walked out so I let down and enjoyed watching them from about 10 yards. I wasn't able to take pics since they were so close and I didn't want to spook them incase something else came along. I did however take pics of my spot after I climbed up. Field is in front of me and the woods are behind me.
Wow - way to stay calm. I love when I'm so close I have to make sure my own breathing isn't heard. Very exciting!
Yep. ^^ I went out Satuday, had a nice doe I was drawn back on, next thing I know a small buck was rustling behind me and she took off. I could have shot the buck, but he was just little. Of course I was irritated, but it was nice just to see something!
^^THIS!!^^^ sounds like a great encounter, sometimes we get wrapped up in antlers in our heads we need to sit back and enjoy things like this!
I enjoy just sitting in a tree. Its relaxing for me. If I see a deer its a plus, and if I can get a shot it's even better. I pass on a lot of deer just because I want to watch them that day.
