I was hunting on the ground tonight just because I was sick of sitting in a stand. I was on a part of the property I've never hunted before and I was about to shoot a squirrel with an air gun when a six point stepped out not 10 yards away. He knew something was up and started running, but i gave a couple of fawn bleats to sound like I was just another deer. He calmed down and he turned and walked strait at me. He turned broadside, started eating acorns, I drew back, and put my arrow strait through him. Only problem is it got too dark to hunt, so looks like I might miss some school tomorrow :D wish me luck! p.s. this is not only my first buck but my first deer ever! so stoked. UPDATE: 4pt buck is in the freezer, I'm at school right now but I'll post pics later. About 130lb whitetail, never been so happy. :D thanks guys for all the prayers they really helped PICTURES ARE UP, GO CRAZY haha I'm eating the back strap as we speak!!
Man... I wish it was close by... I would love to be there when you find him. We definitely expect lots of pics.
Ok....I'm gonna say it..... First, don't call buck down when you do not have eyes on him. Too many things can go wrong and over confidence can lead to sloppiness as necessary precautions may be skipped when searching Next would be, why didn't you look last night? I post this for you and all new hunters that may see this thread. Ii am praying you have him or find him...update!
