But Frank and I cant go. Unfortunately we have a visitation tonight for one of our high school friends. HE FELL OUT OF HIS STAND SUNDAY NIGHT. He was 32 two years old with a 2 year old daughter and wife at home. Everyone please wear a harness and use a lifeline. I know it get expensive and I know that everybody is to big of a man to wear one cause they will never fall. BUt Don't just think about yourself think about your family. Don't spend your money on a new bow, new clothes and a bunch of **** that doesn't get you home to your family at night until you have made yourself as safe as possible.

    PLEASE BE SAFE

A valuable but harsh reminder for everyone. Thinking of everyone during this tough time.

Still trying to get my husband to wear one. I wont get in a tree without mine.

Tell your husband to quite being selfish and just use it. I really only like a lifeline and a harness. I want to be attached to the tree from the ground up and back down. A lot of falls occur climbing or trying to get in and out of the stand. A safety line protects you the whole time.

Sorry to hear about your friend Clinton.

Why anyone climbs a tree without safety gear on these days is beyond me. It's readily available, affordable, comfortable, easy to use and CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE. Guys will go out and drop a grand on a new bow setup without batting an eye but cringe at the thought of spending a couple hundred bucks to put Lifelines in all of their stands.

Sorry again about your friend and prayers are sent out to his family. I can't even imagine my kids having to grow up without me around because I fell out of a tree. :(

My condolences to the family. This is 2 young men in as many years that fell out of a tree stand and lost their life, they each knew somebody from this site. An all too common occurrence that is easily preventable. If you don't have a Safety Harness and can't afford one PM me, I'll send you one of mine. This is easily preventable with today's equipment.

One of you guys who film things should do a video of the proper way to get in and out of a tree and post it as a sticky on this site.

This is a great Idea. If Frank and I have some down time this weekend I will take an hour and make this happen.

I believe the Hunter Safety System Rep told us at last years GTG that 86% of all accidents happen while your getting in or getting out of the tree.

For those of you who run and gun with a set of sticks and hang on, do you trust your linemens belt or do you have another way to stay hooked up while setting up a stand?
