Is KILLING me!!!! Had an encounter with one of my target bucks on opening day (10/1). 130" -140" came in like a dream (with another stud) right up until the point where he just never gave me a shot and watched him walk away. I wont go into the frustration of that as I'm sure you've all been there. I didn't have too much of a pity party because it's early and I know where he lives, I know where he goes, I have a variety of setups to try and catch up with him, seen him during the day several times on cam, and it's early in the journey. I think I'll run into him again sometime. BUT dam.... it's been a south wind every single day since!!! I can't go near that end of the property with a south wind. Somebody above me turn on a fan or something please. I'm dying to poke my head over there again
#firstworldbowhuntingproblems I haven't been out since our opener this past Saturday (longest stretch ever for me) because I'm waiting on weather more this season. Checked my cams quickly yesterday and my patience is not futile. The deer are moving some in my main target areas but either mostly at mid-day or midnight. Not to mention the higher temps and the stiff W/NW wind I've been getting. It's early :D
I should also note that I , too, would LOVE a South wind. I can hunt that ALL day long on my best stand. :D Problem is, I rarely get it.
