Beards

Last year we did the beard challenge, or at least I think that's what we called it.

Grow your beard until meat is in the freezer.

I started mine a month before season.



Not the greatest before pic but it's what I have.

I shaved the first day because I got my first deer at 0715 opening day.

And then the after.

 

Wrong order but you get the idea.

 

I didn't know manliness was seasonal?

The only way to beard, is to beard year round!

 

Been living out of a duffle bag hunting six weeks straight now. Been a part of six kills now and still haven't shaved. I have one more tag left and won't be shaving until job interviews in December...

Stopped shaving right at 2 months ago now, here is a goofy pic I sent to my fam back home last week.

I go back and forth all year, mostly with the beard. as much as I love having my beard, the shave when venison hits the deck has been a thing I have done since I got out of the Corps and could grow a beard.

 

I didn't know Jeremiah Johnson wore KUIU!? Heck of a trip man. Can't wait to hear the full story.

How does our hero pay for his hunting trips? By cleaning windshields at the gas station. Now that's dedication.

 

I've put this on here before but this is always my answer when somebody ask about shaving my beard off.

 

I don't grow a beard to do as jrk_indle84 says as my wife is all I need. I also don't grow a beard because I think I look good in one. I grow a beard because I'm lazy and shaving in the morning is just another step I don't want to have to do.

 

Says the guy that just got frilly waxes and lotions for said beard.....

 

Hey now, exfoliating lotions and body scrubs help keep his skin suptle...now his beard with be soft and smooth. :D

My excuse outside of hunting season is "Razor blades are expensive, it's a lot cheaper to not shave"

yup, i'm lazy, shaving is just one more thing to do.

I don't have a choice, Uncle Sam makes me be clean shaven. 3 more years and I get to retire, and I'll be throwing the razors away!

 

Not sure if my kids, 3 and 6 have seen me without a beard.

 

Sadly mine does not...but she has learned to look past it.

 

The deer in the back ground and my girlfriend don't mind it, they both got use to it

 

I wish I could grow one! Genetics wont let me.

 

Started growing my goatee out last year until I beat my '11 deer. Not sure it will last past this season either way, getting to be annoying. Really hoping I don't get it caught in my bow string somehow

Glad my hair doesn't grow as fast as some of you guys.
