So after a long "discussion" last night with my wife (I'm eventually going to win ), I became curious how many of you have significant others that allow you to hang your deer mounts in the house?

    Your thoughts?

My wife is an animal lover and isn't really a fan of my deer heads so we came to the agreement that I can have 1 deer head in the main area of the house and any others must stay in my office.

Only in the man cave. However my wife does let me hang my last harvest in the main living room for several months so I can show guests before it goes to its permanent resting place in the man cave.

I boiled the skull from the hog my husband shot and then put the cleaned skull on our bedroom dresser. He didn't seem to mind too much. :D

My girl and I have been together for 10 yrs on the 10th of this month. We are getting married on Friday the 10th of this month! She is letting me go hunting on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday (she got 5 days off for the wedding). You guys see why I am getting hitched to this girl? :) So its safe to say if I am allowed to hunt the 2 days before and the 2 days after our wedding.. I can hang heads anywhere I want! lol

    I Love my girl!

I built a man cave for all of my mounts. Like Heckler, my latest and greatest get a short "visitation" right to the main living area, but are then kindly invited to retire to the man cave. I actually don't mind at all. I really wouldn't want mounts all over the main home anyway.

In our old house we had mounts in all the rooms except our bedroom and bathrooms. When we moved earlier this year, all of our mounts went in my dad's finished garage. Our current place is too small to hang much on the walls. The only thing we have here are a couple ducks.

My wife loves the deer and ducks in the living room. The rest of the deer and ducks are in the guest room. She actually buys things that will look good with the mounts we have hanging.

Right Sooner.. if your house matches the heads it looks good. We have country/western looking decor and it matches.

With the exception of my Dad's moose which won't fit in the cave, they're downstairs in the basement. I've got permission to put any "big" stuff I may ever kill (elk, caribou, etc.) in the main living room w/vaulted ceilings. Everything else is out of sight of the warden.

My wife is proposing the one mount in the main house idea. I've always had one in the living room, our entire house is pretty rustic (knotty pine, exposed beams, log furniture, field stone fireplace, etc) so it really kinda fits in. As of now, I'm going to move my existing mount to my sons bedroom since he loves it, and my most recent buck will go in it's place in the living room when it's done.

I told my wife last night that if I shoot another buck this year it's going to be big and will have to be mounted. I then informed her that we will have to find a spot on the wall for a second one in the living room. That's when she started laughing at me............hah.

Funny how they do that. I tried the "when you start paying the mortgage you can tell me where to hang my deer heads" arguement but it didn't really go very far.

Hah........that's my next angle. I figure I had better tag out though before I try this so she doesn't try to shorten my hunting leash.

Mine is right above my tv in the living and I have spots for 2 more right next to him! If I would have shot a big elk he would have gone on a pedestal in the corner of the living room!

My wife said I can have a couple in the living room, but after theres 3 or 4 she said your gonna have to put them in the spare bedroom lol. But I agree our living rooms not big enough to put one on every wall lol. Right now I have my 12 point from last year and I had my first doe mounted when I was like 16. So as soon as I get another buck the doe will come down lol. I think 3 max is all ill be able to put in there.

Deb Knoff (LadyForge) needs to post a few pics of her living room. It's modest sized and yet has ~483,967 mounts and racks in it. ;)

You don't want to fall over into a wall in her house. You'll be impaled. :D
