A day I thought would never come has. Jess is in a stand by herself with her bow ready to put an arrow through a deer. This morning I walked her out to her stand and she did everything on her own and is waiting for her chance to kill her first deer. This time it was her idea. She wanted to go and we both couldn't because the kids. So, she decided she would go this morning and I would tomorrow morning. If she kills one, I won't be there to video it but, I'll be super excited for her. Who else has watched this kind of progression with their wife and how did it make you feel? Awesome man, good luck to your wife! My wife told me if I ever take her hunting she is screaming run as soon a deer comes in range. Yeah, she won't be hunting any time soon .
She had deer all around her but, they wouldn't come closer than 45yd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good luck to the 2 of you!! My wife I love to death, would die for her, but take her in the woods? Lets just say um, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! LOL
I took my wife hunting with me just once. Who knew eat frosted mini wheats and turning a page on a book could be so loud.
If I never see another deer the rest of my life... if she wants to go... she goes and I deal with whatever.
I wish my wife would go.. she loves to eat venison, but thinks the deer suffer and the thought of her making an animal suffer brings her to tears, she says she could shoot one if she didn't have to see it afterwards. trying to get her to go I've even said you shoot it and you can go and have coffee and I'll do all the tracking and everything else. the extra tags would be great.
Awesome good luck to both of you. This is my wifes first year bow hunting and she is excited. Only her 3 year hunting and she has 2 deer with a rifle bought her a new Hoyt charger this year and she is smoking the target. She is 4 months pregnant dealing with morning sickness but still wakes up to go hunting plus we have a 1 year old. Thank God for grandmothers that love babysitting the lil ones. haha I'm hoping she gets one soon!!
I have seen it and it has its rewards.. like getting to sit a stand by yourself... JK Sharing your passion for bow hunting with your spouse brings you closer together and makes easier to buy new hunting gear --- just becomes twice as expensive
I'm experiencing both. Things she thought was stupid of me spending money on, she now says dang why didn't you just buy it anyway? There is no way I would have hunted that long without it. At this point I don't care if it cost 3 times as much, I'm getting to buy a whole lot more hunting gear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's awesome your wife likes to go. My wife helped me track a doe this morning because she can easily see the blood but I never can actually get her out with me
thats awesome. the other day while i was shooting my wife came out and said she wants to try shooting a bow. so i told her when we get some extra money, we will head down to the pro shop!
Doug, I know you're excited, she's excited and i wish her the best of luck. But, I do have to ask one question... If she sticks one, what's the game plan? Call? Or did yall get a chance to talk about waiting a bit, recovery and cleaning? ~Bill
Me and the boys would have went down and helped track and drag then we would all have been out cleaning it. That's what we do. Last deer I cleaned my boys were playing with the hide while I was skinning it then messing with the head, hooves and anything else they thought was cool and asking 10,000 questions. Do yourself a favor and make sure it is a bow SHE wants. I didn't with her first bow and she never shot it. The day I bought her the Carbon Rose, she started wanting to shoot nearly every single day. It changed her view of archery all together. Help her pick out the bow but, let her make the final decision. It's worth it totally.
