Doe was quartered to me slightly she was bout to bolt so I shot and she went to look back when I shot. Cut off her ear and still went through her body where I was aiming. Needless to say she dropped. Just thought I share. Rage sold me this morning.

Congrats, but don't make quartering to shots a habit...much lower percentage of hitting killzone than broadside or quartering away. Congrats again!

i hit a doe few years back quartering away from me. Arrow went in the back hind quarter and the rage torn through her and was polking out her chest. Horrible shot but it still got the job done. But i agree dont make those shots a habbit. Congrats

I normally don't make those shots, but had another one bust me that I never seen before I drawed. When the other one blew that when she quartered to me. So I took the shot before she took off.

Congrats on the deer but don't rush yourself. If another deer blows and spooks the one you are going for and you are given a very chancy shot, there will always be other times. Either way, bet she will taste just fine!

It's okay if deer get away sometimes. No need to rush a shot.

And even though they get the job done most of the time, expandables are inferior broadheads. You killing that deer had nothing to do with you shooting a Rage.

Glad it worked out for you, but that really is not a shot to take. Quartering too, and ready to bolt are both a bad idea for taking the shot. Just because the bow is drawn does not mean that the arrow has to be released.

So the Rage is the reason she died?

Well the deer got hit by an arrow with a rage on it and the hit was lethal so yeah rage is the reason the deer died:bow:

That was the wrong decision to make. Consider yourself lucky you didn't maim her. Regardless of what anyone says or whatever broad head you use, it's a low percentage shot.

I agree that rage broadheads, when working properly, are among the best. I've never had a problem with mine and will continue to use them till I do. But a lot of people on the internet seem to have a problem with rage..

WOW.. I love those Extremes, HUGE holes.. quartering too slightly is ok.. but quartering away is AWESOME.. my favorite shot, put it behind the last right and the deer won't go 100 yards.

Why argue with a successful shot, pictures of the proof the deer is dead

I honestly am a die hard rage head man i can vouch too last season I took a shot on a big buck not a big rack but a big buck here's the proof[IMG] i honestly wasn't trying to shoot this deer in the neck he was quartering away an as soon as I let the arrow go he turned right into the rage. So things happen but I have proof that the 2 blades can be forgiving as any. You ask why because it dropped him in his tracks no trailin needed. Also took a doe in 2012 double lunged her broadside she didnt go no more than 80 yds talkin bout a blood stained highway to venison lol found her in less than 30 min first Bow Doe 3 Blade.

Yes I agree I was just showing what the rage could do. I know my decision wasn't the best but I have food on my table for my family.

congrats on the kill I use Rage 3 blade and I can damn near put my fist in the entry hole and the trail always looks like a crime scene easy to follow and I have never had penetration with them like I see so many complain of

At the end of the day nobody else on here was there except you. Was it a ill advised shot, maybe, but you felt you could make it and who am I to contradict that.

Nice deer and start to the season.
