I use a couple difrent things I buy from a couple of local deer farms because I know it's fresh but you can't go wrong with tinks # 69! I can't say that I can tell the difrence in the way the deer come to it but be carefully and think about where you position it i made the mistake of hanging it about ten yards in front of me and sure enough a nice buck came straight to it and looked straight at me lol dumb mistake but you live and learn!
Tinks 69 is awesome, i've killed my biggest bucks dragging a scent pad behind me walking in and hagging scent bombs up in the trees. I walked in one morning jumped up a big buck he was working his scrape as i was walking in early morning, surely though my hunt was over and not even 5 mins after i finally got in the stand he followed the trail i lead in on grutting. I have many more stories all great results. i stand 100% behind it.
Im kind of partial to Draw-n-Hold myself but Im am a bit biased. Ive got a few guys from this and other sites field testing it for me right now to see if it works in other states and on other deer. I have had great luck with it over the last 6 years.
Special Golden Estrus during the Pre-Rut and Rut. Years ago, during the Pre-Rut, I spilled some in some pine needles on my way to my hunting stand. I came back 2 days later and when I got to the spot, the ground was TORN UP! I have been using it ever since.
Evercalm in the stick. Have had great results with deer in close who don't spoke but are deff sniffing something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I utilize existing natural "lures" to help me place mine. For instance, if I find a few scrapes, I will put a mock scrape between them to create a scrape line. Rather than go into the woods with a bunch of new things in an area where deer don't expect it to be, I find out where the deer are and conveniently place additional ingredients to get a deer interested. The brand of deer urine doesn't seem to make too much of a difference for me, I've had success with a few different ones. What's made it all work for me has been the placement location and remaining inconspicuous rather than a specific brand of lure.
I dont do much with urine based scent other than my own. But MR Whitetail Magnet on the other hand just plain works! Although i believe in some states it would be considered baiting and therefore illegal for use during the season. Works great for trail camming and killing. I killed two does over it just last night....
