    Title says it all...

Last night when I left the woods and got back to the truck I did what I always do. Leaned my bow against the bumper of my truck, put my climber in the bed, unlock the doors and start taking off gear and stowing things in the truck. I do this same thing 4 or 5 times a week, sometimes more.

This afternoon I went to the truck to get my bow and put more arrows/broad heads into the quiver and guess what? NO BOW! Ran into the house to see if I had put it back in the safe last night and forgot, nope not there. My heart sunk and I knew immediately what happened. When I put all my gear away last night I left my bow leaning against the front number of my truck.

So I flew to my hunting property breaking every speed limit possible and there she was right where I left her. Thankfully the way I was parked I had to back up before I could leave. As soon as I backed up the bow fell away from the truck and I didn't run it over.

I looked it over and had the owner of the local pro shop look it over as well. Shot it on the range and everything is as it should be. I may run out and buy some lotto tickets now and try and capitalize on this new found luck.

Man that would have sucked. I'd play the lottery and get in a tree might win some bucks and shoot some!

I could just see myself explaining to my wife why I need to spend another grand+ on a new bow 6 months after buying this one. I may have been joining Finny at Parris Island just to get away.

Yeah that could have gone much much worse. Not to mention the fact that your wife would never let you forget it. Glad to hear that crisis was averted.

You are very lucky! I did the same thing last year but on the rear...and backed over it! 2 weeks into the season. Count your blessings.

The first thing I do when i come out of the bush is open the back door of my truck and set my bow on the back seat, because i almost left it sitting on top of the tonneau one to many times. Then i open the tailgate and start unloading the rest of my gear.

I love a happy ending. I guarantee we all have down something similar and just don't own it. I am glad it worked out for you.

in a city hunt one time, we had to case our bows to the tree. well I left the case at the bottom of the tree, get to the top and sit down. When I sat down the top part of the climber slipped and my bow goes falling towards the ground. It was like slow motion. It landed super soft, on its side and on the case. No damage, Still shot right on. I felt just as lucky/dumb as possible that night.

Did something along the lines of being stupid once, got done hunting and left my bow sitting in the bed of my truck, and didn't close the tail gate. Got out on the highway trucking along at 65-70ish and then it hit me. Talk about a sick feeling. Luckily I have a spray in bed liner and it has some grip to it, the bow stayed in the bed. Glad you bow is good to go.

    Good stuff, Ruger!! LOL

I had my turkey shotgun on the back of my Olds '88 beater back in 2001 after hunting in the backyard .... went in an showered ... took off down the road to have dinner at my parents and about 5 minutes into the ride I remembered I did not put the gun away...slowly stopped and looked at the trunk ...gone ....slowly turned around, driving slowly back towards the house looking...nothing ...we came to a hard curve in the road and I pulled over thinking it may have flew of when I went around this turn ...problem was it went almost straight down about 200 feet down to a farmer's field below...nothing but long grass and scrub in between ...thick as all get out....I found it! Oh yeah, the gun is fully camoed ...I will just give that one to The Lord as I prayed and prayed ... :)
