    Over a 10 year period

    Would you rather:

Shoot 5 120-130" bucks or shoot only 1 150-160" buck?

    I would take the 5 120-130's

While I have no problem eating tag soup 1 buck in ten years would be a pretty tough pill to swallow. Even if it was a 160" buck

    I'll take the 5.
Now if the one went from150-160 to 180-190
    I'd go with the later.

For my typical range of bucks here in northern IN I'd say if I HAD TO PICK it'd be the 5 120-130...unless the 160 is RD :D

I would bet the "ugh" was probably directed to how your overall area in your "neck of the woods" sours you to sub 140 inch bucks far too much compared to the rest of us :D Which is why I am on my way come Halloween! bahaha!

Perhaps I just miss the point of this particular hypothetical question. Allow me to answer more directly. I'd take the 5 lil ones, cause I like to kill deer. But the thought of 5 deer over a ten year period is where I get lost I guess. Doesn't seem realistic anywhere really, idc where you live. I kill 5 deer usually every year.

The 5 because horns are hard to eat and i love me some venison!!!! Meaning i would rather have meat than a big set of horns!

Oh I 100% agree....I'll eat tag soup but 5 years in the next 10....I'll be pissed at my preparation and planning if that happens.

yeah...do I get to full my freezer w/ does in the interim? Pandas gotta eat.
If not I would take the 5 "little" 125" deer.

I am a meat eater but the answer still depends. If I can take does I'll pass on smaller bucks to get a chance at a bruiser. But if I could only kill bucks the 5 would be my choice.
