Time to put a stand up! I can guarantee two things:
    1. It's a big deer
    2. It ain't a doe

As hunters we love to see rubs, especially big ones. I will say any more I use them more to determine direction of travel and seldom set up over a rub unless there is a lot of other sign around also. I have wasted a lot of hours sitting over a big rub only to never see the buck that made it LOL.

I agree with Coop on this one. I'd say its worth putting a trail cam on one of the six rubs but I wouldnt go slapping up a tree stand over one unless I was sure the deer are visiting them in day light

If there are six rubs in a row I would hunt it!

Thanks, I put a lot of thought into it, I in fact had to edit it and preview it several times until I was satisfied of it's in depth content.

I agree with setting up a camera, and also the fact that rub lines can sometimes be nocturnal activity areas. The problem is, if it's a big old ghost, taking the time to set up a camera over the site and waiting for results could lead to a one time sighting and booting the buck. Most of the time with a line of rubs being three or more, there's generally a scrape nearby too and it's generally a high traffic area. I'd prefer to just hang a stand nearby in the travel lane and see what happens in person. If there's no action in a couple or three sits then I'll move along or try it later in the rut. Sometimes it's better to be impulsive and lucky than well studied.

Those are from my ghost. He was a 13 point last year so I'm not sure what he is this year because I rarely see him.

Do yourself a favor, put a camera up and see what is hitting those rubs. Ever heard of a community rub? Anything from a monster to a spike buck will hit those type rubs, makes you think it is a big buck when it could actually be several smaller bucks tearing them up. That has been my experience from time to time, not everything is as it appears.

The smallest buck that we have seen in that area is a 10 point. My dad has been hunting/managing this property for the last 9 years or so. He has a few pics of the big boy hitting this spot and a few others. The only bad thing is we can never see him when we hunt and if we get lucky enough to catch a glimpse of him he's way out of range or in the neighbors field. He runs this area all summer long and then he vanishes when the season starts.

Oh man looking at these pics made me go out the other day and look around my self... I havent seen any yet but just exciting to see them already rubbing and before you know the scrapes will soon to follow... ive only seen 2 buck with no velvet and 1 buck with some of his velvet hanging a little... I tried getting a pic but Im just not fast enough with my camera phone while im driving down the road... awesome pics cant wait for October 1st to get high in tree!

First rub I found this season was on one of four poplar tree rub posts I put in around my new little food plot. Hopefully it pays off. I still have scabs on my hands from hand racking that plot haha. Good luck catching your "ghost"!

Thanks. I'll need all the luck I can get, he's one smart deer. I'm hoping he shows up on this camera I put out in a new area. I'm trying to get some kind of pattern on him.
