I like the NAP Quickfletch but everyone Ive ever installed, ends up moving forward on me. I even tried using a dab of super glue on the ends and they still slide forward. I always follow the directions when I install them. I generally shoot around 80 arrows a day and they don't move forward until they have been shot a little so they may not be suited for that kind of use. Anyone have a solution to this?
I've shot these for years and never had that issue. How are you installing them on your arrows exactly? And what arrows are you shooting?
The only time I've ever had that happen is when I hit something very hard - typically another arrow or a miss into a surrounding piece of wood, rock, etc. The hard impact of stopping the arrow suddenly will sometimes cause the wrap to slide forward. When you're applying them are you making sure the water is at a good rolling boil and you leave each arrow in for 10 seconds or so?
The only arrow I had it happen to was one I shot an Iron Buck with. It didn't slide evenly though, the back 1/4 stayed in place and the front portion ripped away and slid forward.
^^^ Same thing happened to my Quickfletch ^^^ It happened when a dang 2" diameter ironwood tree jumped in front of a buck!
I had this happen while in North Dakota. I don't know if there is anything to it or not, but instead of using tap water, I boiled bottled water the next time and haven't had an issue since. Now, it could have been something else but it was the only thing I could think of and it took care of it.
My solution is to use Flex-Fletch FFP-360 (or SK-300) vanes and a Bitzenburger Fletcher. Use Zing Primer and AAE FastSet gel and you will not pull them off with a pliers. I never was a fan of the Quick Fletch system.
I had this happen to a batch a couple of years back. It wasn't when they hit anything hard either. I called NAP and they said they had a bad batch of them. I believe they said they had a glue application issue or something like that. They sent me some replacements and I never had the issue again. A little trick they told me was to slowly dip them into the boiling water. Apparently this helps the wrap push the water out easier. Then once in let the arrow sit in the boiling water for a min of 10 seconds. Once you pull them out wipe the wraps to dry them well. Let them cool and they should be good to shoot.
Never happened to me, did you rub the shaft down with running alcohol before putting the quickfletch over it? Also did you make sure the water was at a rolling boil and it was in their for 10 seconds?
I shoot beman bowhunter arrows. I could see this happening on an Easton Axis or smaller diameter arrow but mine are normal size. After about 100 shots, they tend to start sliding forward just ever so slightly. Then, they get to where they slide bad and at that point, I usually end up putting another one on but that gets expensive. Also, I follow the instructions to a T when I install the quickfletch. I've even kept them in water longer to see if that helps but they just get brittle.
Never had that happen I've shot them for two years and I make sure when I install them I follow the directions to the T and I haven't had a Problem yet.
I have used them on my Axis's, never had an issue. Occasionally broke the wrap from other arrow/brush, but never had sliding issues. Been meaning to try them on my injexions Sent from my IPhone 5S.
No issues with mine to speak of. Only 2 things I can think of is make sure the shafts are very clean, no oils from your hands even, and try putting them in the water slowly if it's bubbling. I had 2 get air bubbles trapped from putting them in the water too quick. I used a little PVC cleaner on the arrows before applying the fletchings.
