Im looking for guys that use trail cams in video mode. How many do you have? How often do you check them? Do you have them out year round or just prior to and during the season? Brand? How are you using them? Meaning do you set them up over feeding sites, plots, trails? How are you using the cams to inventory local deer populations?
I run 16, soon to be 17 cameras but I left the video mode early summer. I absolutely hate checking the vids, it's time consuming and a PITA. The pics show up in thumbnails that I can tell before I click on them pretty much whats in them. Trying to sit through 2500 90 second videos that are mostly does standing at the feeders for up to 40 minutes at a time has been the most boring thing I've ever done with trail cams. I got a few neat vids but nothing I would tolerate that excruciating 3 hours+ for.
only time I run video is if its NOT over food haha. And I have to have a good reason to think I might get a buck there. Put it in video mode over a corn pile and you will have way to many videos of doe fawn and coons. If you dont mind watching a few hours of videos then thats ok, but I get bored quick lol
I run a dozen or so Browning Trail Cameras. I usually only run video when I'm hunting over it because I hope to get video of me shooting one on trail cam. Here's video of a buck that came into my food plot, 15 yards from my stand, on Halloween last year. I hunted there on 10/30 and 11/1... Here are some vids of the same buck.... Sorry, Im new here so no. I dont really know anybody. If you are a person of some note, I am sory for not knowing you.
He he he. You might find one or two (or 944] videos on YouTube under the gutone4me handle too. Though I did notice an absence of recent video content on FB recently, you're slipping Pat. ~Bill
You're ridiculous! I usually have a about a dozen cams out at any one time. I only run two in the video mode and neither over any foodplots. I agree with coveymaster, it's a lot of time to go through them all. I've also noticed when you post them here, no one seems to be interested in them. Blessings........Pastorjim
Im trying to figure out who here is a serious video trail cam user. I hoped to contact them with an offer via PM. Im looking for hunters in a variety of states to evaluate a scent/attractant that I want tested in as many states as possible on as many different deer as possible.
I run three cameras in video mode all year in any situation simply because I feel I catch more action that way. If I like what I see I put them into windows movie maker and then grab screen shots to get pictures of what I like.
I hunt a large tract of public land and I mostly set my cams to video over scrapes. I have had some luck over mock scrapes using vanilla scent. I really like the video and audio from my stealth cam, but the battery life sucks. my other 3 cams are covert mp8. I would be interested in your scent product.
I'm running 4 Covert Black 60s in video mode year round in all different types of situations.
