I usually use a QAD ultra rest but a buddy of mine gave me a whisker biscuit and I'm gonna try it out. How many arrows can you shoot through one before you have to replace the whisker part?????

they are extremely durable, depends on what you put it through like cold temps/precipitation. I had one that I shot with for 3 years and it never broke, then I got a new bow and a new rest came with it.

I use a whisker biscuit and its perfect the only problem that you can have with one is if youre hunting in freezing and i mean FREEZING conditions then the all the hairs will freeze and when your fletches go to slide through it and it will send it in another direction and you will miss your deer but theres not any weather that cold in SC so im whisker biscuit all the way!

Why would you make such a downgrade?? I would never even consider it.

I'll second the down grade question. I would stick with the QAD. I don't like any rest that makes contact with the whole arrow.

The WB is solid do not let a snob change your mind, your groups will let you know when to change it out, If you are a moderate shooter 3-4 years time to replace. It is a damn good rest

I'll keep my QAD. I had a whisker biscuit and I would never go back. My QAD is so much better but that's just my opinion. Shoot what you are happy with and don't let anyone change your mind.

I shot the same biscuit for 6 seasons. Either rest will be more than capable.

Not a snob, just giving my opinion the same as you. Will a biscuit work? Yes. Will it work better than a premium drop away (that he already owns)such as the QAD Ultra? In my opinion the answer is no.

A drop away is a lazy mans tuning tool. It also aids in tightening groups on less than accurate archers. It's also a marketing tool.

Now to the OP. I would replace the whiskers every year. That's just me though.

I guess I'll stick with being lazy and inaccurate.

I agree. I have been shooting for 10+ years and when I first got into archery, the NAP Quicktune rests were pretty much the industry standard. Hell, just learning how to draw your bow and keep the arrow on the rest was a challenge. Personally, I'm not worried about the biscuit being a downgrade because I've seen plenty of people stack arrows with them. What I was concerned about was if they would stand up to my 100+ arrow a day shooting.

Real question is how long will your arrow vanes last. Worst thing to do. You already have a drop away rest. Don't down grade your set up.

I have shot the WB since it first came out. They last for a couple of years for me. I have never once had a single vane get a much as a wrinkle from the WB. Unless you are doing something wrong, they will definitely not damage vanes. A WB will not fail and has no moving parts. I have seen several drop always fail. I have seen more than one hunting trip interrupted by drop away rest failures. A WB is a smart choice for a hunting bow. But it does take decent form in shooting.

I would say no, buddy. When my Carbon Spyder first showed up back in November of last year, my special ordered QAD hadnt come in yet so to get myself in the woods i used a biscuit for a while. I shoot alot... Especially breaking in a new bow. I fletch my own arrows with high quality glue, a bitzenburger and blazer vanes. By the time i had broken in my new bow, all 6 of my practice arrows were missing at least one vane and the others were wrinkled and covered in dark streaks. The biscuit gets the job done, but for this reason right here and for how often i shoot my bows, i just couldnt have that. All BS aside, id stick with the QAD because they work every single time.

I had mine for three years and never needed to change the whiskers. They all stayed intact and the only reason. I switched is because I wanted a drop away rest.

I used a whisker biscuit for years, shot a lot of arrows through it, and never wore it out. I use a drop away rest now but at the first sign of trouble from it I'm replacing it with a whisker biscuit again.
