Just thought the "worst thing" thread deserved a companion...

The best thing for me is not having to coordinate a plan or wait on anybody else to show up.

While I love hunting with my kids... it is nice sneaking out by myself.

Don't have to find a place for both of us to setup.

Don't have to feel bad that the deer didn't show up.

Don't have to feel bad because the deer came over to my spot and not theirs ( happened this morning ).

Don't have to listen to them sniffle and cough since it never fails when they go back to school they get colds and crap.

Can venture in some really nasty spots and not worry about almost killing them off and catching hell from the wife. Britney isn't afraid to venture any place I want to go. That's not good and I wish she was a little bit afraid to keep me out of trouble so one of us used some common sense. She has learned that when I say I know a short cut to a spot... it usually means getting wet cutting through sloughs. Then I hear... Dad, NOOO!!! Let's go the normal way !!!

You get more satisfaction when you smoke a big buck because you did all the work yourself.

You get to clear your head without other distractions.

    It's nice.

Youll feel more alert and you get to enjoy the hunt better just paying attention to all the small details and watching all the animals do there thing with someone there it is nice to share the hunt with them but alone you take everything in....and i took my cousin last year shot my deer then the next day it was his turn and the big buck decides to walk out of course when i already got my deer but my cousin missed below him and the deer walked off so ill get him this year hopefully

You dont have to worry about if your buddy takes little scent precaution, and if a big buck comes along its all yours.

Don't have to worry about your buddy bringing his buddies to your spot when you aren't there. I had this happen too many times, especially after a successful hunt. I hunt alone now!
