I just want to say that I am honored and humbled to give this prayer every year. Enough about me.... Disclaimer*** this is a Christian prayer. Please take no offense or claim no discrimination. I am just leading a prayer to those of said faith. Feel free to post one for yours if you wish on another thread, but do not mock or correct what we corporately are doing here. Heavenly Father, We want to first thank you for our Lord and Savior, Jesus. We thank you for the doorway He created by His payment for our sin when he was beaten beyond recognition of Him being a man; His bones exposed and His flesh hanging as ribbons, hanging on a shameful cross, as He was mocked, spit upon, and rejected by those He came to save...then to have The Father turn away from Him as He placed the sins of the world upon our Messiah and He died. Glory be to God, we praise you with lifted hearts that 3 days later Jesus rose from the grave, defeating death, the grave and sin! We ask that you would go before this hunting season and bless it. We ask that you would be with each of us as we prepare each day for the hunt. Help us to be thankful of spirit. As we drive to our sites we pray for traveling mercies. As we walk to our spots, help us to not take for granted your creation. Help us to soak it all in and and allow our thoughts to quietly praise you for it. Lord many of us will be climbing up and down into treestands and we pray that you will keep all of us safe. Help us to remember that we cannot tempt fate and that we need to use the safety devices that are available to us all. We thank you for whatever will happen this season ... whether is is the #1 buck falling to our weapon, or eating tag soup, we thank you for the opportunity, ability, freedom, and support to chase this quarry we love so much. Lord we thank you for the deer, elk, pigs, carp, turkey, etc, whatever quarry it is we chase, help us to provide a quick, clean, kill and to respect these animals as a blessing form You, their Creator. Finally, Lord, we thank you for the spouses, children, family, friends, and all those that love us and support what we love to do ... especially those that do not understand our passion. We ask that you bless them for blessing us and we ask that you keep them safe as we are out pursuing that passion you have given us. So we lift up the 2014 Hunting Season to You, Lord and we ask that you would wrap your arms around it and bless it. We promise to give you ALL the glory for whatever happens, for it is because of You that we can do this in the way that we do it. We ask these thing by way of the Blood of Jesus Christ, Amen
