    Having to open/close gates yourself.

Of course, growing up, I was the gate opener and didn't care for the task then either. It's just a pain in the rear to do it alone though. Stop, get out & open gate, move vehicle through, stop, close gate, get back in & drive on.

    Dragging one out by yourself
Having no one to talk about your days events at the end of the hunt
You double your chances of going on a blood trail with someone else along
Two sets of eyes is better than one on that blood trail

I don't see a single disadvantage to hunting alone, that is why I hunt

I either hunt with my son, my dad or alone. Each one is fun. if I hunt with my dad I try to stay far away from him cause he is an old timer who doesnt care about his scent, or the wind....lol If I hunt with my son It's great to have someone to text back and forth with, ask him how the wind is by his side of the property, and if he sees any movement. plus it brings back memories of me being his age hunting. If I hunt by myself it's game on, I can go where I want, do what I want, stay out as long as I want, I feel that by being solo I am a better hunter. But for me it's not always about the kill, I know that going in the woods with my dad is a blessing everytime I am able to, and I can only hope going in the woods with my son has the same meaning to him that it did for me when i was his age hunting with my dad.

Nothing. I don't find anything bad about hunting at all. With or without anyone. Every chance to be in the woods is a good one.

Trying to hoist that big honker into the back of the truck all by yourself with two bum shoulders! Bought me a bumper hitch mounted deer hoist for this season :moose:

I enjoy hunting alone it's me time. After the hunt it's always nice to have someone around to BS with and have a few cocktails but not a necessity for me anymore.

No one to help hang stands.

No one to make the phone call if you hurt yourself while hanging stands.

    No camaraderie.

Having to call for help on the packout. "Honey, the good news is that I got a big cow elk...the bad news is that it's a mile to the truck... all uphill."

Also, it's pretty easy to get yourself hurt or stranded out here. In many places, nobody may find you for a long time, if ever.

With all the dang texting that everyone likes to do anymore ..... are we truly ever alone ?

I go to the woods for peace , solitude , and to be one on one with nature and that's easier to accomplish if I'm alone . If I need help or want to discuss the days events , I'll phone a friend .
