I know I started out really late this year but why is it such a PITA to find a field day in IL?

I tried to contact them about open spots and they said they are all booked for September/November  Any idea how to get a spot earlier? I did my Illinois Hunter safety course but do I have to do the field day in Illinois as well?

    So frustrated ...

Did you take the online course or instructor-led course? I believe The field day is only required if you took the online course

If you took the online course you DO need a field day and those are hard to find that aren't filled up unless you're willing to drive. My wife took hers online but I couldn't find a field day only before the season starts so she is taking a two day instructor led class which is free and she will be licensed after. Basically she did it online, paid for it, and it was a good learning test before the instructor class. Might be something to think about.
