I get there about 45 to 30 minutes before sunrise and sit about 2 1/2-3 hours and in the afternoon about the same before sundown till about 30 minutes after it sets.
This weekend I'll be in the stand an hour before light & climb down around 9. In the evening I'll climb up around 4 & sit until I can't see anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I get there about an hour before sunrise and stay until I'm confident that I'm not going to see much more movement . Sometimes I'm there 5-6 hours but as the rut starts kicking in I'll start sitting all day when time allows . In the afternoon , I try to be back in my stand by 3:00 .
Usually about 30 to 45 minutes to sun up and I'll sit until 10 or 1030. I won't go back out until 3 and sit until dark. Unless it's during thr rut and the activity is high then I'll sit all day.
I have had two back surgeries and can only take 4 maybe 5 hours max before I have to get down. I generally sit from 45 minutes before first light until 10:30 or so. A lot guys head out at 9:00 around here and sometimes they get deer moving my way . In the afternoon I like to be back in my tree by 2:30-3:00 if I can and it's not too hot. Sometimes early season it's a little later.
Like to get in the stand 30 min before day light and I usually hunt till 11-11:30. In the afternoon, I usually go in the stand for 3-3:30 till dark
It really all depends on the deer movement. I'm usually in my stand 1/2 hour before first light and sit until 9ish. If there are still deer moving, I stay put. For afternoon.. usually in my stand 3 hours or so before last light and stay until I can't see enough to ethically shoot.
When I gun hunt the rut I try to stay all day when I can, I've shot 3 bucks with my gun, all at 1:00 pm and two were from the stand. It really proves bucks Are on there feet all day during the rut Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just hunt when I can and as long as I can....I am usually in the stand 1hr before sunrise and will sit till 9-10 if possible. Usually back in the stand by 3-4 and sit till dark.. I very rarely get an opportunity to sit all day which I hope to do a couple times this year...Just got to pick that perfect day lol...
I'm there 30 minutes before sunrise and out by about 10:30-11:00. I haven't done too much afternoon hunting in the past few years but when I did I was back in the stand by 2:00-3:00 and stay until dark.
I am usually in the stand ready to go 45 mins before light in the morning and by 3PM on evening hunts.
I always try to be in my stand and ready to go about 45 minutes before legal shooting light and i'll try to sit until around 10am. I also try to be in the stand and set up about 3-4 hours before legal shooting light ends in the evening
45 min before first light until 11 then I go back at 2 until dark. 1st week of November I'll sit from sun up to sun down.
Ill head out an hour before light and sit til 1030-11 (depending how cold it is). Ill get back on stand around 14-1500 and **** until a I can't shoot or the deer are gone.
1/2 hr before legal shooting in the AM. Always 4pm until dark in the evening during weekdays as it's the earliest I can get in after work. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.
The only time I hunt mornings is during the rut, most do more damage then good. Evenings I hunt the last 2-3 hours of the day but I jump from stand to stand on every hunt no matter if I see anything or not. Stand sites are picked by wind direction only for each pc of ground I have.
Depends on what stand I'm sitting. But normally I'm in stand about an hour before legal light. Early season I sit till about 10, go grab some grub, take a nap in the truck till about 130-2ish, then start heading back in and sit till dark. During my vacation, which is usually last couple days of oct, first week of nov, I'm usually in stand from first light to last light in less something comes up.
I like getting in the stand 45 minutes to an hour before legal shooting time which is a half hour before official sunrise. Gives it time to settle down after walking in. Will try to sit all day if the rut is kicking. If hunting just afternoons I'll try to get in about 2 1/2 hours before sunset. I shot at, and "at" being the operative word, what would have been one of my biggest deer at 12 noon.
I usually sit until about 10-1030 in the mornings and then go back to the cabin or house depending on where im hunting and then will head back out around 230-300 most afternoons.
