Virginia now allows Sunday hunting on the upcoming season. What kind of affects were the result of this, positive and negative in your state? I know many of you have been hunting on Sundays for years. Virginia is among the few, until this year that had a ban on Sunday hunting. We are already starting to see some local areas setting noise ordnance type of regulations to keep people from using guns on Sunday. Curious to see if it is going to cause any other negatives.

Pennsylvania doesn't allow Sunday hunting. Petitions have been going around to try and get it to pass, but I doubt it ever will.

I can only think of positives. Being a working class hunter, it gives more opportunity to get into the woods. Allows us who work weekdays, a chance to harvest a deer. I only get Friday afternoons and Saturdays. That, IMO, is not enough time!

Others (usually not working or nonhunters) complain because they can't do nature walks, the deer need rest, etc.

ND has never had "day" restrictions on hunting but I'm not gonna lie to you, no hunting on Sunday would SUCK!

We have always been able to hunt any day of the week as long as I've known in LA and MS.

Our lease actually borders a church on 3 sides of their property

The lift on the Sunday hunting ban will add many more hours of hunting for me. My guess is I will get in an additional 40-50 hours of hunting throughout the season.

NY has always had Sunday hunting as long as I can remember (and THAT's been a long time). With that being said... I don't ever remember me actually shooting a deer on a Sunday - ironic huh?

Couldn't imagine working a 5 day a week job and not be able to hunt on Sunday.

A few years back, NC passed the law that you can Bowhunt on Private Land in NC. That suits me fine. Maybe one day they will allow hunting anywhere on Sundays.

I have been waiting for this for awhile. One more day to hunt is awesome as I always feel I need a little more time. That does mean that I have to do house chores during the week with a flash light. :tu:

There are restrictions on how close you can be to a place of worship so that should be ok. Other than that I can imagine we will see more people out on Sunday. I know I will.

I've never gotten the reasoning for no hunting on sunday. The deer need to rest? Is that what the deer said?
