In the interest of not over pressuring my property I am also hunting public land and I plan to try spot and stalk there. It's mostly open fields with a mix if hardwoods
Its nothing to put in 13 miles going after mule deer. We don't have tree's where lots of good mule deer are.
I had a blast. It took three days but I found some bucks. I got a shot off at a decent fork. Shot looked great right until he ducked. 75 yards. Clean miss. :-/ he lives to be found again.
Right on brother. I don't know about you but I'd loose my mind in a tree stand. Patience is a virtue I guess.
Last year I put in 7 miles before killing my elk. Also walked 8 miles the day I killed my mule deer. Spot and stalk is fun. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
Strictly tree sitter or ground blind sitter. Sneaking around when its 90 degrees in thick woods where everything wants to bite, sting or suck you dry isn't my idea of fun. You can have it.
