I am in the market for new broadheads, Rage or NAP Killzone?

I shoot rage, every deer I have ever shot ran no more than 60 yards.

I shot my buck last year with a killzone, it left a huge hole and a blood trail a blind man could follow, buck made it about 35 yards or so, plus I like the blade retention system on the killzones more than the rubber bands on the rage. Just my 2 cents worth.

Although I have heard great things about the Killzone, knock on wood, Rage 2 blade has never failed me

The "rage" guys will tell you rage & the "nap" guys will tell you NAP.

I'll throw G5 Montecs into the hat. Good luck.

NAP Killzones if you had to choose one as your first mechanical. I am a Rage guy and I have shot the Killzones. The design of the Killzpne is better than the Rage.

This isn't going to help you much but really it's whichever one YOU want. Some people rave about certain heads while others have had nothing but problems with them. Pick whichever one you desire and see how it works for you. If it works for you you'll love it, if it lets you down you will be switching. Just need to see for yourself.

I have shot them both, retention bands on the rage allow the blades to release when hit against something, such as a branch or I have had it happen in the quiver. You just get used to checking the head or you learn the sound when the blades are sliding loose. The killzones have a better retention system and more foolproof.

Both are quality heads and I personally use them just about interchangeably. I have killed deer with both, both have about the same cutting width and I have noticed about the same penetration and most of the time have both in my quiver.

So, if the design is better, then why do you shoot Rage broad heads? Seems a bit contradictory.

I'd get them both because they both kill deer in the proper hands!

Can not go wrong with either one. They both are lethal but I prefer the KillZone for a few reasons. The blade locking mechanism just seems more reliable from experience.

I have Killzones and Montecs in my Quiver, however, The Rage hypodermics look like a sweet broad head to me. As long as the shot is good, any head is gonna do the trick.

Killzones leave a nice hole, and the blade retention is nice so you don't have to worry about em opening in your quiver or bumping them.

I have both the Rage Xtreme and NAP Killzone.. I'm shooting both of them for practice and find that they both shoot true for me. Haven't made up my mind on which way to go for Oct.1.... we'll see

What I like about the Killzone is also the thing that is making me lean towards Rage.. I love the design of the blades locking in place. With that said, I don't know that it'll make a big difference, but from an engineering stand point, it takes more energy from the arrow to deploy the Killzone blades than the Rages. This little energy loss could be the difference between a pass through or not at farther distances. Again, it may be minimal but thats what keeps me leaning towards Rage.

In the end, find a broadhead that your bow shoots well and make a good shot on the deer. A properly places field point could kill a deer

    Well I've shot:

    Thunderheads and killed deer.
    Grim Reapers and killed deer.
    Slick Tricks and killed deer.
This year Slick Tricks and D.R.T. single bevel heads will be in my quiver.

ANY broadhead shot accurately will take down a deer and do so rather fast. The mechanicals do a number if you miss vitals but also bone as they will devastate a lot more organs (gut, intestines, liver and such). Fixed blades by nature typically will fair better against bone impacts..especially those with tougher than nail ferrules and/or single bevel designs.

I personally shoot the killzones but that's because they work & are cheaper than rage.
