Bows with a good back wall

I took a lesson the other day and was really pleased with the results. One thing that I realized and was noted is that having a bow with a good back wall would be very beneficial. I've shot a Bowtech Experience and Assassin and liked them both but was curious of what other bows have a great back wall? I'm still fairly new to all of this and currently shoot an Alpine

I have an Elite 35 and Obsession Addiction. In my opinion they both have nice walls. Great shooting bows!

 

This is one of my problems. I just haven't gone out and shot bows from different companies. I have shot 3 bows since I picked up the addiction. 2 PSE and 1 Bear. I have 'settled' on a go to bow, the Energy 32. But first, I want to go out and shoot many other bows. Matthews, Hoyt, Bowtech and Diamond just to name a few. Get a general feel for other bows and then make my decision. How does the Alpine feel, Myway?

 

Alpine feels okay but doesn't really have a wall and find myself jerking when settling on shot. I'm shooting well but would like a solid wall.

Elites are known for their backwalls. It almost feels like you have to push it forward to get it to let down.

 

I agree, I love my Elite, and when you get back it feels so effortless that you can relax. I don't think I'm going to be able to get rid of it.

I also agree. One of the many reason why I went with the Energy 35. Very effortless to hold at full draw for any amount of time.

 

As a general rule, any bow with limb or cable stops will have a good back wall. Some are better than others though. I like the Elites and Hoyt Z5 cams back wall.

 

Do yourself a favor and shoot an Obsession. Solid back wall, absolutely dead in hand, and as smooth of a draw as it gets. 60 lbs. feels like 50. I had and Elite Energy 35 before my Phoenix and thought it had a smooth draw but the Obsession is even smoother. Back walls are the same so if you can't shoot an Obsession, I'd find an Elite.

 

I did shoot the instructors New Breed with a crazy good back wall also. Just trying to figure out what all I should be looking at

My Hoyt Vectrix had a slightly spongey back wall.... My HeliM has a much improved back wall... Still not many compare to Elite. It was weird to even get used to when shooting one haha.

 

I shoot a Strother SX Rush. Back wall is awesome, will never shoot another bow without a backwall!

 

I second the above. Strother bows have a solid back wall.

 

I was going to post the exact same thing about both those bows.

 

Elite by far best backwall in the business.

 

Both of my Bowtech's are pretty solid. The only Elite I have shot was a Hunter and it was pretty good too.

My Bowtech Assassin has a SOLID back-wall...almost hard to let down if you don't shoot it. I've had other bows that were a little smoother, but all of them had some 'creep' in the back-wall. Assassin seems to be a great bow for the price.

 

Yeah, now that I am used to my Elite I went and shot a Hoyt about a week ago. It felt very spongy. Just a total different feel to it.
