What are your three favourite things about bowhunting?

Mine favourite things are the challenge of hunting, being able to be close up to wildlife, and how much longer bow season is compared to modern gun.

    1. silence of bow hunting.
    2. the challenge of getting close.
    3. the satisfaction of making a good shot.
I still enjoy gun hunting but there is nothing like bowhunting

    1. The challenge of it.
    2. Satisfaction I get when I harvest something.
    3. The hunt itself. The fact that you have to get in close.

I'm by my self in the woods enjoying the fruits of my labor, and possibly reaping the rewards of harvesting what ever I am hunting.

    Quiet, serene and peaceful...
Also, getting close and personal as well as getting the chance to 'watch' nature.

    1) The solitude of the woods during archery season and feeling closer to God.
    2) The enjoyment of watching animals close up and personal.
    3) The uncontrollable shaking after releasing a successful shot (having lost that feeling during gun season).

Mechanics of a bow, being able to customize so much on your bow to make it yours. The stealth and challenge. It's just all around awesome I enjoy every part of it from practicing to hunting. The feeling of shooting a big buck with your bow is nice too haha

I agree with everything. Man vs. Beast. And sitting in a tree stand with just enough cell service to post

Oh I forgot to mention mama getting up and making a gnarly breakfast for us with coffee that would make a train run. Umm so about oh I don't know, maybe and hour in the stand and well... You get the idea:woot: And I wouldn't change it for anything.

    - The solitude and serenity
    - The pride it brings to provide the family with some of the best and most natural food sources on this great earth.
    - And the fact that it just feels like it is what I was put on this earth to do. (Every aspect of it)

Btw it's nearly impossible to narrow it down to 3 things. :p

Not everybody can do it. If you kill deer (plural) with a bow you've done something.
Less people bow hunt so you don't have the crowds.
The challenge of the hunt. There is nothing like getting a deer under 20 yards and then keeping your s**t together to make a good shot.

    1) I get to hunt before the deer get jumpy from encounters with other hunters
    2) The challenge of getting close to the animals
    3) I can shoot all year without constantly buying ammo
    4) The length of bowseason compared to rifle season.

Every point everyone is made are all correct. We all love it for the same things. I love watching the seasons change. Watching the woods come alive in the morning. There is no greater high than making a decision to come to full draw on animal and let loose an arrow
