So i went out today around noon to re-adjust my setup, mainly to add another LW so my son and i are in the same tree for filming. I was hanging the second stand when i heard the snap snap crunch...i looked out in front of the tree and there was a yearling doe staring up at me right on the run i plan on shooting her! she took off, not blowing but trotting away with her tail going every which way. so ten minutes later i was screwing in the last bow arm, when i heard the same thing and sure enough....there she was again in the same spot looking right up at me. She must die. I think i should be fine, the season doesnt open until september 15th, and right when i was climbing down it started to downpour, so my scent should be gone.
Yes, plenty of time between now and then. She may be the one who gets under your skin though if she spots ya up there first the day you're hunting though LOL!!
That's what I'm afraid of, her walking out right before the big boy comes through on his feeding pattern, and she let's them all know right where i am!
There's not a doubt in my mind she'll look straight up at you when she comes out so you better be drawn and one step ahead of her lol
The key is that she is a yearling doe so they are still pretty stupid yet. She won't remember by then being only a teenager.
That's sucks. Hope you can put her down before the big one steps out. Luckily the rain probably washed most of the scent away Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tender meat! (Heck, I am happy if I see anything while in a stand!) Maybe you'll double them up opening morning. Her before she alerts everyone, then the big boy!
You know the first thing she is going to do is go back and tell the biggest buck in the woods what she saw! That stand is done now!
