I have two deer in my backwoods, both have a +3" point...protruding forward out from the base of the right antlers. Seem strange, but take a look at the pixs and let me know. Thanks, MOBU
Stickers stickers and junk lol cool to have shot a few bucks with them and they really bring the character to the racks...
Have heard them called rippers. Easy to see why if you imagine what those points can do to a poor defenseless cedar tree
If it's attached to the bottom of the antler, it's a burr that grew long. If it's not attached to the antler, it could be growing from a third pedicel.
This morning, I saw that 9 pt buck with that single sticker on his right antler base, just as I was leaving my driveway this morning. 30 yards away, we both sized each other up, I have nothing but a .300 Chrysler and I have a BUCK FEVER! Dang, I felt like I was 16 and my first year of deer hunting! MOBU
I've always called them devil points just because it sounds cool. But what they actually is what Dan said a few posts earlier.
My first deer had one. I just called it an eye guard. Wish I'd have seen him pretty rut, he had another one on the same side that was broken off at some point. Small stub sticking straight out on the back side of the base.
