I've been wanting to try out a single pin sight system for quite some time but couldn't figure out exactly which one to go with, although when I set out after an upgrade for my bow I go all in..no cut corners I want the best of the best so I knew early on that whatever model I did pick would be an HHA. I finally made my mind up last night to go all in with the HHA optimizer lite ultra DS-XL5510. After getting it set up I only had enough shooting light for a half dozen shots or so but I was already hooked. Can't wait to get off work today and really get her dialed in.
Great new sight! I'm still hesitant to upgrade to one. I don't think I feel confident in my abilities to guess at where to aim but hopefully I will soon because I see a real advantage in single pins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Awesome! I just dailed mine in this past weekend. I am so amazed at the accuracy compared to my old Tru Glo 4 pin.
There is no guess work. Sight in at 20 & 60 yards select the proper yardage sticker from those results and you will be good from 20 yards all the way up to 80. Also depending on what model you get you can adjust it in 1 yard increments or every 5 yards. Plus the lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either. I actually just sent my site housing in to have the fiber optics re taped and they had it back in a week.
I meant if I had it set to 20 yards and the deer walks to an opening at 36 yards and I didn't have time to adjust. I know the tape is accurate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is my concern as well...however I think I am going to set mine to 25yards when I hunt and practice out to 40 so I know where to hold in case I don't have time to change the yardage. Oh I see. I think you will be surprised how quick and easy it is to change yardage. I usually keep my pin at 30 and practice at different ranges with that. Has worked out pretty good so far.
I bought mine from Bowhunting Suppy store last week. It's on the bow but I haven't had a chance to sight it in yet. You have any prob with the riser being in the line of sight of the 2" sight housing?
with my single pin i plan to hunt with the pin set at 30. it shoots 1.5'' high at 20 and 2.0'' low at 40 and if you are aiming mid mass of the deer thats a double lung all day.
but i shoot the trophy ridge react one sight, much easier to sight in then any hha single pin system.
What I don't understand is my last sight has a 2" housing and I don't have this problem. Maybe I will get use to it but it certainly doesn't help peep alignment. It is a pretty big issue as far as I am concerned. I spent extra money on the 2" so it in combination my larger diameter peep would give me the best sight picture. Guess I should have went with the smaller sight housing.... I may reach out to HHA and test their customer service.
I like the idea of having one pin but I hate to have to change the setting before I shoot. Also, and this may be dumb, but those HHA are UGLY
I love my HHA. I shoot so much better only having to concentrate on 1 pin. I also love the rheostat! No more halo around the pin.
