Hi everyone, I love watching the hunts on bow hunt or die and really think it would be fun to film some hunts. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good camera or setup? I have self filmed a turkey hunt but the camera wasn't very good so the video did not turn out good. Thanks to any who have suggestions.

A good camera setup all depends on how much you are looking to spend..

I just won a GoPro Hero III Black. It rocks. Highly recommended.

If you want a great starter camera, I would recommend a sony cx550. They cost around 2K when they came out 4 years ago but now you can find a good used one for around $500. It takes very good video and has a lot of features. Gopros are great but I wouldn't used them for the main camera, more of just a secondary camera. A good tripod and fluid head will help a ton too.

I have a Sony Handycam on a Big Game Treestand camera arm. I was really surprised at the quality of video I can get. I also took and old digital camera and fabricated my own bow mount for a budget GoPro knock off. I am working on filming my second season and hope to have a few quality webisodes by mid-season.

I was recently suggested the canon hf-r500 series... I have been researching them and they are a great price. Check out Campbell Cameras - Home they have packages too that are loaded with stuff to make filming fun and easy.
