Are you asking if we would shoot it or not or if you should shoot it or not?

I can't determine either way from that pic. If he's 5 or older I would take him, if not then I'd let him walk.

I would. Looks like he has a nice thick neck and a blocky head.

Depends on what other deer in the area look like.

Usually if you are asking yourself that question when you see a buck the answer is "not". When I see a "shooter" there is usually no doubt. If there is doubt then he is marginal.

Fill your profile in a bit with your basic area. That would help the decision. Some areas that deer would be small, others a good buck. In Pa I would probably shoot it.

I'd shoot him, too. But I'm not picky for my first archery buck! But, in PA that is a decent deer. May not be thick, but that is normal around here.

Usually, but it doesn't apply well to young hunters with short experience field judging animals on the hoof.

Don't shoot the deer for somebody else, never compare it is not fair to yourself or the deer. If you take the deer be proud and enjoy it.

does anyone else think that this looks like a mount someone put in front of the camera. To me it just seems stage, and looks like someone is holding a mount close and out of view of the lens. Just my thoughts

I can see where you would think that but I'd say no simply because fake eyes don't have eye shine like the one in the photo has.

I would shoot it and be proud. Not very many in RI like that.

Shooter! He may not have the most mass out there but he is still a nice buck. For a lot of people who aren't used to seeing big deer he is a monster. I would be proud to take that buck.
