Do these thermcell things actually work good? Where do you put it while you're in the stand or blind?

The ThermaCell units are the ABSOLUTE best device since the bow & arrow!!! They will keep mosquitoes away and the ThermaCell brand mats do not scare game. You just hang it near you or lay it on the ground near you.
I refill my own bottles but find I run out of mats. I bought the ARS mats to give a try.

ABSOLUTELY!! One of the best hunting purchases you can make. I usually hang mine on the tree beside me while hunting.

Hopefully they work because that is a real good deal. The Thermacell mats don't last long and the replacement kits aren't cheap. Keep us updated.

The only issue I have with the thermacell is that their range is not nearly as they advertise. They say it covers 15’x15’. They work great for hunting when you are close to the device. Step away from the device and it doesn't work that well.

15' diameter. That will get you 7 1/2' all around. When using one while target shooting, I've found that to be extremely accurate.

That said, I use the case that they make, and clip the unit onto my Summit cable to my side. That keeps the unit horizontal like it's supposed to be, and out of the way. The clip also allows me to hook it on my pack when climbing down, as it's too hot to put away yet.

Ehhhhhhhhhhh. 225 sq ft. is 15'x15'. It is not a radius. Just saying.

^what he said ^ X1000! Worth Their Weight in GOLD!! My Dad says someone used their head when they made these. I hang mine on a bow hook in the tree I am in. I have knocked one out of my stand before and had a doe walk up and sniff it. She then turned and walked back and started browsing and eating.
