I have a M88 mini cam that I went to pull the card out yesterday. Well I pulled the card out but couldn't get the camera to turn back on. I took it home to try and assess the situation and well now today the viewing screen is flashing black and white so I am thinking it has finally died. Anyone know if there is a warranty on these cameras or know of a cheaper camera that I can get that has some decent battery life preferably AA batteries.
I had one die after 3 years of use and they gave me a good deal on a referb that has been working for 2.5 years.
Batteries was my first thought as well, my M-880's will blink on the screen when the batteries have a tad bit of charge left in them. Surely the OP'er tried new batteries...
Absolutely checked the batteries. My first thought as well. Put new ones in last night and nothing. Even tried again this morning. So i'll give them a call this week and see what I can do to get one back in the woods.
When you send it in, pay for a "signature required", it's well worth the extra coin. I had one heck of a time with Moultrie and a warranty claim. I ended up planting my food plot with a a friends spreader. It took better than 6 phone calls to CS and I had to get more rude, the than I care to repeat. Good luck, MOBU
I've had good results with moultrie CS. I had a couple M-80's that did the same thing you described. Working one day, dead dead dead the next. They were about a year and half old, so out of the warranty limit, but IMO a 150$ cam should last longer. So I thought to myself well, these are junk I'll just send them back to moultrie and they can have em. I added a letter explaining my frustrations with the cams. Less than a week later they were shipping me brand new cams. It's old fashioned, but sometimes a letter gets the job done in a world that's flooded with email.
I had the same problem. There is a firmware download fix on their webpage that fixes it. You might want to take a look.
Moultrie will send you a $30 replacement camera that will work for a week or so........At least they did for my really really old 2 year old camera.
