Sometimes I spray my bow sometimes I don't. I try my best to control my scent, but I can tell you I hunt with some guys that absolutely will not spray their bow for fear of somehow hurting the bow. So question two do you guys baby your bows. I understand taking care of equipment, and not abusing it, but some of my friends are phsyco about making sure their bows their bows never ever see an ounce of dust. Okay, so whats funny is when we find the deer harvested the first thing they do is lay their bow on the ground. I feel as if my bow is a tool, much like my knives, or my truck. I use them, but I do not abuse them. I am always careful to not knick, or dent my cams.
Those are really good points. I've wondered that myself many times. I do not spray my bow but that's because I keep broken pine branches in my bow case under the padding but before I did that I would spray down the bow. Like you said it is a tool I will use it but not abuse it. As for when u find the deer, even though it should be, where I set my bow isn't the first thing I'm thinking.
I do not spray my bow... Not because I'm afraid of the spray hurting the bow, but because there is no point IMO. I spray my boots, and sometimes my clothes... But I try to play the wind to the best of my abilities for scent control. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wipe my bow down with scent away wipes, especially the grip. I'll also spray the string and wrist sling from time to time. I don't do either of those every hunt but I try to keep the scent to a minimum. More of an issue than the bow would be the release. It's constantly in contact with your skin absorbing sweat all summer long. I give that a good douse in scent spray every couple weeks and make sure it soaks into the fabric. As for treatment of my bow, I would say I'm in between babying it and using it as a tool. I'll lay it on the ground and stuff occasionally but I take extra care that it doesn't get dinged or scratched when hoisting or lowering. It's in really good shape so far. I look over it constantly and make sure everything is how it's supposed to be.
I spray the inside of my release and wipe down the handle and wrist sling on my bow. I don't think anything beyond that is necessary.

Exactly what he said. It's stupid and such a waste to spray your bow down I've been working in a proshop for 6 years and never heard anything like this.
Figure your handle and release are full of human scent as you shoot all summer sweating and all. Spray it down/wipe it down is the way we go.
I usually wipe mine down but will spray it if I don't have wipes. I feel like wipes are probably more effective than sprays with all of the cutouts in the riser. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Scent molecules are everywhere in your home, its just simple science. Un less you store your bow in a vacuum sealed container, or just never shoot it will have scent on it no matter what. They travel through out the air on just a waft of air, or wind. They stick to everything, oh and they produce a scent, a scent which is not normal in the animals habitat you may be hunting. This is why we wash our hunting clothes in scent killer, and spray our boots, and our selves. Anything in your home that you use for hunting is going to have those molecules stuck to your equipment. But stupid and a waste? . Best of luck.
A lot of times I do. If you have an HHA sight, beware that the spray will rust the screws quicker. I keep my bow in a pretty scent free place. But, I do it by habit sometimes. I make sure I spray down my release and bow harness more than anything,
I was sitting in my stand one afternoon last year and looking at my slightly stained braided wrist and thought: "I bet after all the hours of summer shooting that sling holds a lot of stench." I started spraying it after that LOL.
