I was shooting today and on a couple of times when I pulled back my release failed and sent the arrow flying. Thank goodness I always point down when I'm pulling back. But I was wondering do releases go bad after awhile this one is about 10 years old it is a Tru Fire. My finger never hit the trigger.
It definitely could just be a loose spring or something from being so old. Releases don't even have to be old to malfunction it just happens
A loop will start to pull through a caliper style over time. If this is the case, I would get a new release specifically designed for a loop. You could contact tru fire and see if they can help you out with a new spring.
I'd say it's time to replace, it's better safe then sorry, and this could turn into a safety hazard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
