I pulled the trigger on a carbon spyder today. I got ribbed a little by some of the patrons in the pro shop about the price, but it was all in good fun. I've been eye balling one for about a month now. I shot the carbon spyder 30, the chill R, the chillX, and the carbon turbo. My choice was simply the 30 inch ATA carbon spyder. Why? I was very impressed with how easy it was to draw at 70lbs the scale read 73lbs, weather or not it is 100% correct I'll never know, but I must say it was silky smooth to draw, and dead in the hand. I really appreciate what Hoyt has done to raise the bar in the archery industry with the carbon technology. I can't wait to see what the other company's have in store for us in the near future.
You'll love it! The Z5 cam is what made me pull the trigger on one this year. The price wasn't that big of a difference at the shops around here. The Chill R was 1099 and the Carbon Spyders were 1250. Not much difference to get the bow you really like!
Thats exactly the same prices at our shop. I own three Mathews bows at the moment, and I will be honest I went in the shop today with a very open mind. But the way that carbon spyder handled was just impressive. Don't get me wrong I love my Mathews line up, awesome bows. I wonder if Mathews is gonna do something out of the box with carbon, or maybe another type of material. I'll save up for that one too!
Posting a "I got a new bow" thread without pics should be a bannable (is that even a word?) offense LOL. Congrats on the new bow! Those are sweet.
