So with all of the ads and social media on new products out there. What is the ONE and ONLY ONE product that you have purchased in the last few years that you would NEVER purchase again? For me It would have to be the butt out tool. I thought it would save me so much time. When really my old way of field dressing deer is still the best way i know how to do it.
Any and all fixed blade broadheads! They're fine from the ground, under perfect conditions. But up in a tree, with heavy clothes on, shooting form can suffer, and when form suffers, so does fixed broadhead flight. Mechanical heads are much more forgiving under real life hunting scenarios.
Rage Broadheads. Though their customer service wasn't terrible to deal with. Used them two years ago. Husband was hunting and using them. Shot a buck, had a great blood trail, could see chunks of lungs. He said the buck hunched right up and went off. He could hear it breathing raspy. He found half the arrow - the broad head never opened up. The blood trail stopped. We searched and searched for it (three days). Didn't find it for the whole season. His uncle ended up finding it underneath a log. He shot another one - same results with the broadheads. We now use Hell Razors.
Lets put the broadhead posts here: http://forums.bowhunting.com/bowhunting-talk/63295-your-best-favorite-broadhead-ever.html
We just had a thread like this. http://forums.bowhunting.com/showpost.php?p=922646 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Any and all climbing stands there all crap and a pain to use and you can only use them in certain trees I will never buy another climber or ever recommend one to anyone. So my one product would be climbing stands.
I have tried several in my almost 30 years bowhunting, and had basically the same issue with every one, but OK, ONE... Muzzy 3 blade 100grain. I could them to fly fine and group with field tips from the ground when I concentrate on form, but when I get 25' up in a stand and shoot from wacky angles, wearing my heavy hunting clothes, the fixed heads start flying terrible. Mechanical heads tend to fly true for me, even if my form is not perfect. I didn't intend to start a fixed/mechanical debate, I just answered the question, which product have I bought that I wouldn't use again. For me, that would be fixed broadheads.
OK, you are older than I thought you were Fitz! I have not seen or heard about one of those in years. A buddy of mine used to run a couple of them. Been sitting here trying to think of an item and I can't other than an old mechanical BH I used over a decade ago. It was some generic name.
Same here! Bought a brand new Summit Viper Climber a few years ago, and I just never used it. It was extremely comfy I must say, I just didn't care the amount of noise I made in it trying to climb, and how you always had to make just as much noise coming down.
