First off let me state I love rinehart targets and I love their customer service. They seem like a quality outfit with high end products. But, my frustration is growing with them. Last winter I bought their bag target. What a flop, my arrows blew through it, tearing off the fletchings and I was less than pleased. I call Matt at customer service and he told me to keep the bag, and they'd give me the price of the bag toward a new target plus 50% off a new target of my choice. Great!!! I chose the rhino block after reading reviews and it arrived at my house 2 days later. Very pleased with that experience!

Fast forward to this morning, I'm shooting into the block and as about my fifteenth shot hits I hear a loud crack. I go look at my arrow and am in dismay. The rhino block features a removable center on two sides to shoot broadheads into. Holding that insert in place is some plastic tubing that exits the backside of the cube. My arrow entered the target and traveled down the tubing thus snapping my arrow at mid shaft. I'm shooting the injexion FMJ's and just ruined a 15$ shaft. I call Matt back and discuss my issue after he sees the attached pictures of the incident. He states that he's never seen that before and says it's a one in a million type shot and there's nothing more he can do....should I pursue this with another rep and see what kind of compensation I get? Or should I just suck it up and move on? I love the target, but IMO that's a design flaw in need of fixing and I should be compensated somehow.

Thanks for any input or advice

LMAO sorry bro but that is funny! Sucks about the arrow and it does seem odd to have the hard plastic inside a friggin target. Seems they could come up with something better.

Probably better just send that ol block up to me and I will send you a few straw bales. Twine not wire :)

Man, I need to be shooting them FMJ's, I mean look at that penetration :)

I'd say since you got 50% off, plus the difference of your bag target, I'd probably just let it go. I'm not really sure I understand the point of the tube in the target, but I'm sure there's a legit reason for it.

Just get a 3D target with the replaceable inserts. I've owned my 3D target for 12 years now and just buy the replacements inserts that can take practice tips or broadheads.

I think you're just having some bad luck man. I've been shooting Rinehart targets with those same plastic inserts of years and never had a single issue with them. Sure I've ran a few arrows through them but never down a tube until the arrow broke. IMO it's a fluke and Matt's right, it's a 1 in a million shot.

Dude grab a beer. And holy cow keep those FMJ's I mean you can pull off one and million shots with those arrows, I'm buying some ASAP!

On a serious note I'm sorry to see you lost an arrow. I have two of those targets, my shop told me to remove the plastic tubing for that exact reason. I think you will be very satisfied with the target, as for the arrow that just sucks, sorry to hear about it.

I agree, I have the same target, and though I've occasionally speared the tube and it took a hard yank to get the arrow out, I've never actually shot it down the tube like that. I'd call it bad luck and move on. After seeing their bag targets in action, I do agree that they don't deserve the Reinhardt name on them.

Sorry but your going to have to suck it up. I have a Rhinehard 3d target with the same tube system. Like Justin said I have speared the tube several times but never shot right into it. What you did is not going to happen often, losing an arrow sucks but its going to happen.

It sucks but there really isn't anything rinehart can do. That's a shot that won't happen again. Leave it alone and enjoy a great target

Why wouldn't I want to show off my awesome penetration lol?

Still bummed about my arrow but I think I'll just drink a few beers, kick back, and enjoy the fact I have a sweet target to shoot at 50% off. I'll just avoid shooting that side.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck man. I have never even heard of this happening, and Rhinehart has been using this system forever.

Other than the bad luck, how are the injexion FMJ's working for you? I know I absolutely love mine!
