Let see if we can get some good sensible comments about this ad that PETA has sent out. Not bashing or feeding their expectations of hunters as uncompassionate humans.

I agree with it. Hunting is much more than a meaningless game.

I feed and provide protection to dozens, maybe hundreds of deer and turkey and quail...what the hell does any PETA member do to practice conservation and actual management of animal species that is that constructive? That's right...nada.

Still trying to 'force' what they believe on everyone else. My attitude is, do what you want...leave me and my life alone. I don't care what you do, you shouldn't be concerned with what I do.

Hunting is not a sport. It's an outdoor activity.

I have never had a coach put me in. Fans would be arrested for trying to watch me. Do you buy a license to play the sport of football?

I don't think soccer is a sport either, so guess they're right. For me hunting is a combination of things and not just one word can describe it.

That is what I was looking for.
For me hunting is my choice I life style.
I don't look at the animals I hunt as game.

It's not a sport, it's a lifestyle. Just ignore PETA, there is nothing we can do that will change their minds. Honestly, PETA itself is no more than a profit generating machine that preys on the weak and uniformed. The mindless zombies that fall into their trap, well they are just too far off the spectrum of rational thinking, you just can't even talk to them.

Yep what they said. Umm how about all the wild life that was forced to leave their own natural habitat when they built that soccer stadium. PETA is full of emotionally charged kids with the idea that champion a cause of which they have very little education on. A humans mere existence makes a impact on wildlife habitat, but we on this forum already know that.

So a big Yawn goes to peta.

    BOOM! There 'ya go!
Hunting is a way of life and not just a 90 minute, 4 quarter, or 9 inning game.

If animals have rights and PETA doesn't want them treated cruelly then we should outlaw all zoo's and Owning and breeding pet into captivity for the soul purpose of being forced into a life of being a companion to a human being and having to live in our homes and not one of their own choosing. That's animal cruelty. IMO

At least our prey lived a full and natural life the way God intended it at the way some socialite demands of them.

Hunting is a way of life for me. Yet, the media tries to portray it as mindless killing. Whatever, to each his own. I don't care what other people do, so leave me and my hunting The H ALONE!!

We have these guys in Germany too. They are trying to ban hunting in Germany, building an alliance with Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union and Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland. They try to make owning weapons more and more difficult and banning species from being hunted. They have a huge support community here and have been successful in two states by now. In addition we have a political party "Bündnis 90/Die Grünen", who want to abolish hunting. The main problem in industrial areas as Germany, is that the city people have no connection to nature and to the production of meat (best example: They want to abolish hunt, because "it is cruel", but they buy pork at the mall...).

I think this "advertisement" is right, hunting is no real sport. It is more than just sport! You have a connection to your prey, you see it growing up on the trail cam pictures, you make plots, you wait in your tree stand hoping to be able to finally harvest a deer. And when you finally see it you try to make the best possible shot.
A hunter has a responsibility for his or her prey!
But this PETA guys cannot understand this, because they want to grant every animal human rights. This is not how nature works! Predators will still kill their prey, but they are not as deadly as an arrow or bullet...

PS: Please excuse any writing error, English is not my native tongue

These are people enjoying animals living free lives born out in nature.

These are people breeding animals into a life of slavery for their own self centered entertainment and or forced companionship.

    Who really loves animals?
