I've lost a few hang on stands but most were cheap homemade stands .

You lucked out. Both my climbers were fairly new. I learned my lesson

Yep, lost a ladder stand and two trail cameras plus some misc. stuff. Karma got the little SOB though. He spends his free time, well actually he doesn't have any free time these days as he's in prison.

I've never owned a climber and used to build all my hangons .

Coming from a family of welders , we built some pretty good stands but when I was 12 or so , climbers had just hit the market . My uncle and dad had decided that they'd just make a bunch of them and go ahead and place them on the trees we were suppose to climb .

The first time dad sent me to one of them , I got 12' up and the bottom turned loose . When I stopped sliding , I was a couple foot off the ground and just sat there till dad came to get me . When he got there , I told him that if he wanted the top section , he could go get it ...... I've never went back up in a climber .

That was about 36 years ago and I'm sure that climbers have came a long way but it's still not for me :)

A trail cam and scent dripper were stolen while doing a deer study in college. The property was owned by the school and well posted.

I had my Bushnell trophy cam HD with a python lock stolen last year. They ripped the camera off the tree and broke the bracket off, and left the python lock on the tree. I am still pissed!

Hang on and sticks from a small farm we had permission at and a trail camera with a security bracket around it was stolen also...must have really tried hard to steal it and def broke it in the process cause there was pieces of the plastic from the cam on the ground at the base of the tree when I went to pull the card and big gashes in the tree like they used a hammer and/or a crowbar...people are sick! I have never and will never steal or tamper with anyones hunting equipment or gear as i would expect people to do the same for me as I have to much resect for others trying to accomplish and enjoy the same thing that I do so much!

Thankfully me personally I haven't lost anything. My husband has lost cameras and a couple stands over the years - nothing recent.

I do have someones ladder stand though. If they come to my house they can have it - but I want to know who is right behind my house without permission.

Luckily for me I haven't had anything stolen. Drives me crazy that people will do stupid **** like that. I've come across a couple trail cams on public land, some even unlocked. I did look at the pictures on one, then proceeded to stand next to the camera and make funny animal shapes with my hands. Left a note saying good luck and went on my way. I see no reason to make life harder for anyone else. Just hoping that guy got a laugh when his pictures included some random hand animals.

Dishonest people suck! Was never a thief, or will I ever be! I know how hard I work for what I want and I would never steal knowing somebody else worked hard for as well!

Over the past 10 years I have lost about 6 or 7 trail cameras 5 lock ons and 4 sets of sticks.

Also had the memory cards stolen out of my cams twice. Better to lose the sd card than the cam.

It was really bad about 5 years ago.

Knocking on wood I haven't had anything stolen but I have lost a few things while out hunting.

2 yrs ago I lost my favorite knife while out tracking a doe. The zipper of my pack had broke and the knife fell out. gloves that fell out of my pocket while walking to the stand in the morning.

Almost lost my wedding ring in some thick brush under my stand when I took my glove off the ring came off with it and fell to the ground. Spent about 45 minutes cutting back briars to find it. Now it stays in the truck :)

Thankfully nothing stolen but we did have a corn feeder destroyed in PA by a few bears. The only thing I deal with on a regular basis are "tresspassers" which only use my property for irding 4 wheelers. I've since said they can ride through just to respect my property. I figured if I give trust it will earn respect. They haven't messed with any stands, firepit, or cabin, all of which are pretty much in plain sight, so I assume they wouldn't go for the cameras if they stumble across them either.

We had a pretty expensive ladder stand get taken down and removed. Good thing was we found it on the other end of a field, looked like they didn't get real far having all the sections bolted together, otherwise I'm sure it would have been gone for good.
