Today my wife and one of my sons (4 year old) shot at their first 3D shoot today. Gavin made it through 22 of the 30 targets before he called it quits and just hung out. I did have to help him with the aiming a little on some of the targets. With a little practice he will have it down. Jess shot all 30. She did pretty well considering she rarely ever shoots past 20yd and has NEVER judged yardage. I offered her a range finder but, she refused. By then end she was doing pretty good on yardage and shooting really well. She said that's just fuel for her to practice and learn the yardage judging aspect. As for me, I gave up trying to be competitive and focused on them. I shot OK but, don't even remember my score. What I will always remember is the fun that was had! Now to get my other son on the course! That will be pretty soon. It was a great day in the sticknstringarchery world today. Man this is going to be some fun years ahead. That's a handsome young man. He'll be teaching you a thing or two about shooting 3D in no time. My oldest boy out shoots me on a regular basis....until one particular 14 year old girl shows up at the club. Then it seems he loses concentration and can't seem to hold his bow steady. I wonder what's up with that?

Both my son and daughter have lost passion for the sport but they are young. We did JOAD and it was a ton of fun even before I got into Bowhunting. Good luck to you guys!
